If I could give zero stars I would. Back on April 18, 2017 I tried to adopt a dog. Filled out all the proper paperwork. I own my own home with a fenced yard. Really no reason why I wouldn't have been able to adopt the dog I applied for. I even attached a photo of my family along with information about my family. Tried to contact them multiple times. When They would choose to answer I would get the run around she is driving, or can she call me back. I left multiple messages and never still to this day have they ever called me back. Got the total run around. I live out of town I even tried to call to setup a visit so we could meet the dog we applied to adopt. They would never call me back. Very unprofessional. Not sure they really have the pets best interest at heart. The dog I tried to adopt even ran away from where she was being kept luckily she found her way back atleast that is what they put on facebook. I pray she went to a good home and not the people who let her run away in the first place. They really gave my family the run around. I would not recommend even wasting your time trying to adopt from this organization and if you have placed an adoption application I wouldn't hold your breath on getting a call back about your application. This organization has changed their name numerous times. Upon doing a Google search there was one negative review after another having the same issue I did. I will be looking into who I can report this organization to as I feel that they are defrauding the state as well as people and don't have the animals best interest at heart. It is organizations like this that make people turn to backyard breeders and buying puppies instead of adopting ones that really...
Read moreI applied for a puppy and drove 40 minutes both ways to meet him. I felt as if we were a great fit (I have an energetic 5 year old that fell in love- minus the sharp claws of course but it wasn’t a huge deal).
I was told that Andrea was not going to adopt to my family. She did not follow up with a phone call. She did not view my home. She did not allow a meet and greet with my dog at home. There is absolutely NO explanation and no communication. I am so disappointed and thrown off by the unprofessionalism.
My only thought is she didn’t like the following scenario (which is a logical solution to my problem, in my mind). I have an amazing 1.5 year old dog at home that likes to dig holes so when she is left outside unattended- I have her on a 20 foot 360 degree retractable leash. She is only outside on her own for about 30 mins a day and otherwise is supervised and NOT on leash- free to run and play and we go on nightly walks. I am a wonderful pet parent and my girl is the happiest dog. Additionally, the foster parent of the puppy we were interested in actually told me that her dog digs as well and the fence she had was not wooden or 6 ft tall. (Which are requirements that I MEET).
I am just completely blind sided by the fact that there was no follow up with me and a simple email saying “sorry, we’re not adopting to you”. You’re running a business that is attached with...
Read moreWonderful people wanting to help animals, but clearly Poor Management.
Over the many years I've lived in the area, I reached out to this place several times with no answer to their phone or interest in setting up appointments and/or directing me to another contact.
I understand completely it's a volunteer based center, short handed. I thus always leave a polite voicemail requesting a call back, and providing multiple ways of contacting me.
I have never had this place answer or call me back. That's correct, they have never answered, I always get a voicemail, and they NEVER call back....Seriously?
I appreciate greatly the people/businesses/non for profits helping animals find new homes, but how do you help accomplish that goal when you don't even answer your phones or call people back?
Over the different time periods, I was twice looking to adopt and two times found stray (completely healthy friendly) animals...
