Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Lago Vista

Worst Sonic I’ve ever been to. Food is horrible. Service is not great. New to Lago Vista, been here for 4 months. I’ve been to this Sonic three times and all three times, it has been a bad experience. The first time, I ordered drinks, corn dog, and tatertots. The drinks were fine, but the corn dog was shriveled up and rubbery and the tater tots were undercooked. Second time I went, I asked for a large sonic blast with extra extra Reese’s peanut butter chunks. What I received was basically a thick vanilla shake with a little amount of peanut butter and chocolate dust. Absolutely no chunks. Most blasts have bite sized pieces of candy throughout. There was nothing to even chew. The pieces were the size of salt and barely any in it. Very disappointing. The third time I went, I placed an order of two large mozzerella sticks, a large pickle fries and a small pickle fries, and a burger. After waiting around 10 mins, the girl comes out with a large coke. We told her that our order did not have drinks. She immediately turned around and went back in. Then 11 minutes later, she came back and asked if we had ordered. We told her we had ordered and paid over 20 mins ago (there was only three customers at the time). She told us that yes, she brought us that order but said it wasn’t ours. We told her she handed us a large coke and we said wrong order so she took the entire order and went back in. She didn’t say a word, just stormed off with horrible attitude and then came back with two crumpled bags and said, “ I thought yall ordered a large coke too, but here’s your food and three tokens for medium drinks next time”. The food order was missing the large pickle fries and the entire order was cold. The mozzarella sticks were not even melted. The small pickle fries were soggy. Just all around 3 for 3 not good. Worst Sonic to visit repeatedly for the last few years (2015-2021). Nearly every time I attempt to order via Drive in, they mess up the order. And my order is simple without wierd changes or substitutions. I finally got tired of the screw ups and when the order was incorrect, I asked to return the unopened food/drink for a refund. Good Luck!

According to the manager, refunds are "extremely hard to do and can take a long time" and that they will just remake your order rather than offer to refund.

Also, the Sonic app is riddled with bugs. Though this store isn't responsible for a poorly executed App (can't complete orders, processes payment and freezes, no substitutions on simple food meals that are allowed at the store), this store should honor app promotions IF the app is not processing orders.

Especially when you placed the app order, then the Sonic app later cancels the order due to "order processing failed" response on the app. I have had this happen on both android and Apple apps, and Sonic store can see my order issue, but won't even honor the 1/2 drink deal. This Sonic stated "we don't honor any app promotions at our store, despite if the app is unresponsive".

Oh and there food versus other sonics: below standard. Half filled fries, 3/4 filled drinks and shakes, melted shakes, hamburgers smashed together. Come on Lago Vista Sonic.

Summary: This Sonic is horrible. Yeah, you don't have many choices in Lago Vista, but don't waste your money...

I'm around the same distance from this Sonic and the one on Bagdad, and if given the choice, I'm never coming back to this one (Lago Vista) ever again.

First, I placed my order on the app and to it I added 5 sauces: two honey mustard and three signature sauces. The rest of my order consisted of corn dogs, tots, and onion rings. Because the order was placed on the app and I can see the receipt taped to my bag that lists it off, I KNOW the employees can see my sauce request. Instead of either sauce that I ordered, I received a handful of ketchup (????) and normal yellow mustard packets. I don't particularly like either.

The food itself was alright but could have been a lot better. Today was a .50 corn dog promotion which you would think means that corn dogs don't have time to get that cold on the rack, but apparently not because all of mine were freezing despite the order coming out in only moments, and they were soggy. The tots were also not cooked enough and were cold. The onion rings were acceptable, however.

One thing I can say is that service was fast, but since the thing I actually received was incorrect, that's basically a wash. I know it's busy at lunch but "signature sauce" doesn't look like "ketchup" and the honey mustard packs are totally different from the yellow mustard ones. It's a silly thing but I enjoyed my meal a lot less than I was hoping to because of it.
