I would not recommend Whole Pets Market for their dog bath service. We had been taking our dog to Tomlinson's, but WPM is closer so I decided to give it a try. The price at both places is $15. At WPM the dog bath area is just a raised trough at the back of the store, out in the open, right next to aisle's full of merchandise that get splashed every time your full size dog shakes itself off (both in and out of the tub). I had to bring my own towels, and was told extra towels were $1 each. I was told on the phone before I came that they had shampoo and other grooming necessities but I arrived to find most shampoo bottles down to the last bit (with many options being cheap bad smelling stuff I would not put on my dog), the brushes were worn with hair still in them, and not much else was provided. The one shampoo that I would have used was an oatmeal based Burts Bee's, but it was empty (with the lid off) and when the girl there went to see if they had more, not only did they not have more but they didn't even sell this in the store! So I ended up having to buy a $15 bottle of shampoo I didn't need (from a dusty selection that was mostly the cheap stinky stuff, thank goodness they had one brand that was okay). The trough itself had no steps to assist bigger dogs getting in, thankfully the young man there picked up my pup and got him in there safely (my dog did however try to jump out, which is possible because of his height relative to the lower height of the trough walls). The water spout arm is stiff and was not long enough to reach all the places I needed it to, and the trough did not drain properly so my dog was standing in an inch of dirty water at the end. There wasn't even a trash can provided for me to dispose of the hair I brushed out of my dog, though the girl there kindly said she would take care of the pile I left.
At Tomlinson's my dog could not jump out of the bath and steps are provided to help him in, along with apron's for you, treats for your dog, and a well kept cart stocked full of quality grooming products (I missed out on all of that at WPM). At Tomlinson's the washing unit allows you to switch between water only and shampoo or conditioner coming out of the spout itself, which is such a help. All the towels you'll need are included, plus a blow dryer with a long arm that can reach anywhere in the room, and you're in a nice enclosed and semi-private room. The store itself is also much nicer to be in than WPM which is crowded and unattractively merchandised like a Sally's Beauty Supply.
The two young people managing the store were both very nice, attentive, and helpful. They were why the experience wasn't a total bust. But still, we won't be returning for all the other...
Read moreNoah and Lorraine were very helpful in getting my golden retriever's nails trimmed down near the quick. They both were very caring and careful to make my pup calm and lie down as they both were able to trim and cut his nails with no fuss from him. They treated my pup as one of their own and he got pampered and treated to a first class nail trimming. No appointment was needed but be sure to call first to ensure there will be someone there that is able to cut and / or trim. Ever since we switched our pups to a different brand we have been buying frequently from the whole pets market. The store prices are very competitive with other local stores selling the same product and they have different sales that the other stores do not have, so you will be able to save a bit more there too. There is plenty of parking available, three spots right in the front of the store, wide enough that your doors will not get a ding or dings unless the other person is careless. If those spots in front of the store are occupied, there are more than quite a few more spots in the parking lot with many new stores that have opened to visit that are animal friendly. Additionally, you can bring your dog to wash your dog yourself for $15 or they will wash your dog for...
Read moreAbsolutely TERRIBLE customer service. I special ordered a leash from there and they were supposed to call me when it came in, I didn't receive a call so I stopped in a week later to see if it was in, they then told me it hasn't been ordered but would be in within the next 2 weeks. So i went back 3 weeks later, and still no leash, so I went up to the front desk, and after she was done texting on her phone she asked what I needed, i told her I still didn't see the leash I requested. Then she went through her notes and told me she was supposed to call me to tell me they couldn't order that leash. I don't understand why they say they will special order something if they don't follow through, I don't understand why she thinks it's okay to make a customer wait while she is on her phone. This place is awful. My 2nd bad experience there, I tried to give them another chance, but I...
