This place has changed for the worse !!!! I've been donating here for many years and have never had any issues until yesterday. I've donated expensive clothes, suits prom dresses, furniture: tables with matching chairs to large mirror and seasonal items. Everyone has always been pleasant until yesterday. I had 5 brand new bar stool chairs. Only reason why we were donating is because I found another set that I liked better and figured it would be better to donate rather than return them. I pulled up and was immediately greeted by this rude gentleman. I explained I had 5 new matching bar stools. In a rude way he asked me what condition they were in and again I said brand new, would you like to see? In a rude way again he said they only want them if they are good but didn't even want to look at them- My truck was literally 10 ft away from where he was standing. So I said never mind, I'll go to the salvation army which I did and they accepted them happily !! I pulled up to the front, walked into the store and told the gentleman at the front desk that I had some furniture I'd like to donate and could bring them in so he could take a look. He said he was the right person to talk to because he's the manager and walked right out to my truck.
I completely understand they need to be in good condition but not even wanting to come look? That gentleman was about 10 ft away from my truck and still didn't want to look. And acting very annoyed (angry).... There was no line or anyone else there and yet he acted as if I was intruding on his...
Read moreI have donated to Goodwill hundreds of times over the years. This past 6 months I have been there 20 or more times, donating high quality goods, all of which are on the accept list per your website. None of the items are or have been on the can't accept list.
Today's experience at your Alicia Fabricante store made me extremely angry. Your person accepting the goods opened up my hatch and immediately in a disrespectful tone of voice indicated that, "We cannot accept this. We don't accept holiday stuff". Everything in my car was quality goods. I had no holiday goods. I had decorative goods that were purchased from Michaels (brand new). I had a beautiful decorative Persian rug that cost $600. This was not a door mat. It was a decorative piece. Your website does not indicate you do not accept the items mentioned above.
If this is the kind of treatment I am going to receive, I'll take my quality goods else where. Be consistent on want you don't take and list it on your website and teach your staff to be polite and respectful.
We come there to donate to help people. It would be a lot cheaper and easier to throw the stuff in the trash than to drive to your donation center at $6.00/gallon of gas, only to be denied and treated like a garbage man.
I would rethink your process. Very rude and disgusting experience. Furthermore, take care of the stuff we bring in. I brought over a $500 Yamaha guitar yesterday and the guy tossed it on a pile. Really?
Time to find a place that treats you with respect and appreciates your effort to donate and...
Read moreThe guy that was there to collect my donations threw them in the bins very roughly. I could hear some stuff break. I asked if he could remove the books from the tote bags I had brought them in, instead he threw the bags in along with the books. I said I wanted my bags back and he mumbled rude things under his breath at me before fishing them back out. Wasn't offered/given a donation receipt slip either, the guy just walked away without a word. The whole interaction left me feeling very uncomfortable. Honestly, I'll probably be donating elsewhere...
