I went to Pitt Grill this morning to meet a friend for breakfast. The waitrest Tonya came to my table & we had the following conversation: Tonya: What can i get for you? Me: What kind of flavored coffee do you have? Tonya: We don't have any Me: What kind of cappuccino do you have? Tonya: We don't have any. We have plain but good coffee with the regular liquid creamer or powered creamer. Wait! Let me see if we have a flavor creamer in the back bc we sometimes bring some from home Me: That's ok, you can just bring me a glass of water Tonya: She then walks away She then returns with a glass of water. I took a couple sips then noticed something was in my glass. I then noticed it was a Dragon Fly floating at the top of my glass near my straw. The waitress Tonya then returns & we have the following conversation: Tonya: Handed my friend her food she ordered before i got there Tonya: Would you like to order something? Me: No ma'am! I then handed her my glass Tonya: What's wrong? Me: Take a look in the glass Tonya: What is it? Me: A Dragon Fly Tonya: I don't know how it got in there. It wasn't in the glass must have been in the ice. She then looked at my friend & asked so you don't won't the food? Me: I'm defiently going to make sure people are aware of this Tonya: I don't think its a good idea to put it on Fb Me: Its already done! Tonya: She then walked away & was talking to another co-worker It seemed as if she was more worried about me posting it on Fb rather then trying to fix the problem. Tonya, then returns & we had our third & finally conversation: Tonya: I'm sorry it wasn't my fault. Me: I know I look like a little kid but i'm a business owner myself & i defiantly would'nt have handle this situation like it was handled today. Me: If i would've been the owner of this location. My manager would've been trained to come & apologize about the concerned that was brought to his/her attention Me: Did y'all throw out the old ice? Tonya: No! I I told them about it. It's not my fault. I'm just working to try to feed my kids. I'm sorry Me: Don't be sorry for me. SMH. This was defiantly the worst experience i've ever had. This was the 1st time in many years that i went to Pitt Grill. Based on the way things were handled, i will never step foot in there...
Read moreWent in to have a meal with the family. Got a the kids somewhat sat down and the lost waitress came and asked about drinks. I asked for water and few lemons. To my surprise she walked away without any of the 8 drinks left to order. Brought back 2 drinks. My wife then asked for a root beer. Turns to walk away then says they do not have root beer. She orders an unsweetened tea. The waitress says coke. Once again she order unsweetened tea. Guess what the waitress says... Coke. So she's says ok coke. She goes to walk away and I asked if she would like to know what the kids want to drink. Ok sure. She brought back drinks but 2 short. Ordered those again. She brought those and goes to leave. I spoke up and asked if we could order. Mind you we do have one child being difficult. Finally successful ordered. I hoped. 3 of the girls needed to go to the restroom. Sent those to the restroom. Another waitress comes over and says they can't be in there and need to be supervised. We are the only ones in this place. The oldest girl 8 bring the younger ones to every public restroom. So what is any father to do? I go and get my girls and let them know we are leaving. I walk back to our table and asked the wife if she was ready to go as well. She said she was the moment the waitress insisted on her having coke. They get up and next thing you hear is the other waitress yelling at the cook not to make our food. Ruffly 15 mins after ordering he hasn't even started. They ask if I needing anything. I said sure. I guess I need to pay for our drinks. Paid $29.80 for 6 sprites and 3 cokes. Kids drinks. But hey we did the unsweetened tea for free. I asked why the kids were charged for adult drinks. They do not offer a kids drink. Only come with the meal. I've always wondered why the parking lot was empty and the placed looked closed. I now know why. Definitely would not recommend the place. We left and went across the street. Have a great meal and willing spent 200 on our food. 2 adults and 8 kids. The waiter thier was happy to bring her an...
Read moreI lived in this area about 20 plus years ago, while I was in college. Back then, the Lake Charles Pitt Grill was in a different location. Friends and I would sometimes go there late after the night clubs and bars closed. They had a breakfast buffet then. I moved away for a long time, started a family and then finally moved back, bringing them with me.
We've eaten there twice now. Although they have a different menu, full of local flavor, compared most other places of it's kind, this Pitt Grill has a fairly average diner experience. My wife and I, along with my 10 year old daughter, visited Pitt Grill a few days ago, for breakfast.
My wife had the biscuit and gravy, my kid had the Cajun Toast, and I had a Garden Omelette. Wife and I drank coffee and kiddo had orange juice. The coffee was not good. It was drinkable but I didn't drink a lot of it. My wife changed her drink to a Coke. My kid's orange juice was good. She liked it. The food wasn't bad. It was just average. I had actually ordered the Philly Cheese Steak Omelette, but they were out of it. Which doesn't make sense, unless the waitress misspoke and meant to say they were out of the ingredients that go in it, or it's all prepacked before ordered. So...not fresh...? The Garden Omelette wasn't bad. It could have used some seasoning or a little extra salt. It was a big omelette and I ate as much as I could, leaving only a couple bites and some grits, along with most of my toast. My wife said her biscuit and gravy was fine. She didn't think the gravy was homemade. She's used to making her own, so I have no problem accepting her judgment there. Then there was my kid's Cajun Toast. She ate about half of it. There was an odd flavor we couldn't describe. I'm not sure that she didn't like it, but she wasn't really into it either.
Really it wasn't bad. Just not much to say about it. We'll likely go back at some point in the future. The pricing...
