Lines through my expensive scans from a dirty scanner.
I went in yesterday to get 18 illustrations scanned. I was on a time line and found out that the previous time I went to office max and paid $.50 per scan the resolution of the scan was very low and didn't meet my publishers printing requirements. So I paid for 600 dpi (highest resolution there is) at $5 per scan. Leah who helped me yesterday was really nice. She understood I was in a time crunch so went out of her way to get them scanned before she left at 3pm. After checking out and paying $85 for 18 scans I went home. When I opened the files up each scan had a line through it. As I went through the scans the line got darker and more distinct. They were on every page. I don't know if Leah was in a hurry and didn't check the scans or if she just looked at the first couple but not closely and didn't notice. But if I am paying $5 per scan to get publishing quality scans they need to be perfect. Due to the print shop at Office Depot now being closed I had to go to FED Ex. Good news though, they only charged me $1 per scan so my price tag was $18 instead of $85. This morning I had to go in and get my refund from Office Deport which they did give me but this was very disappointing and I hope they clean the scanner and look over their prices, or at least deliver what you are paying for.
Also she uploaded them sideways. That tells me she was just rushing through it. It sucks having to write this review as she really did go out of her way to do my project before she closed but I would have rather her tell me she didn't have the time or made me find somewhere else to go then give me...
Read moreExtremely disappointed. Walked into store (using a bright red walker ) and it took 20 minutes before my wife and I were even acknowledged - this after looking at 2 associates in the print center and 1 at the cash register when we walked in and after one of those print associates walked by us 3 times. I guess the 4th time was the charm.
To be transparent here, I use to be the Store Manager for this store. What I witnessed to day, tells me that either the upper leadership doesn't give a dam or the store manager doesn't give a dam, but absolutely solidified to me that the employees really do not give a dam. Two of the associates were wearing short. One in ragged old cut-offs that were shedding and she was wearing a beanie. The young (NOT EVEN 18) man at the register wearing shorts you would usually sleep in so short you could tell how many golf balls he had in his underwear.
I understand the aspect of permitting associates to have fun and "Friday Dress Casual " days but you should still be at least somewhat professional. Only reason they get a 1 star is because I was able to find the items I need. Mainly because I used to be the store manager many years ago and I know where things are because we the store hasn't changed.
Has society really gotten that bad, that we cannot have any seblance of professionalism in a retail environment dedicated to serving the Professional Office...
Read moreI had to use the bathroom, Eric, the manager refused to let me use it. I tarted to tell him about Ally’s law. It’s an Oregon State law. He said I don’t care and I don’t want to here about it. And told me to leave. I had an accident due to him not allowing me to use the bathroom. I could sue him for breaking this law and may do so. Find below Ally’s law:
The Restroom Access Law (aka Ally's Law) has been passed and will go into law January 2010. In Oregon, the Restroom Access Law is called Senate Bill 277 (Public Accommodation Act). The bill was passed to allow access to restrooms for people with eligible medical conditions (people who have medical conditions that necessitate the use of a restroom). Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis are just two of the eligible medical conditions. This law will require all facilities to allow access to those with eligible medical conditions to use the employee restroom if necessary. Download a physician certification card (pdf) and the video about life with Crohn's Disease.
