I am a foodie and a part time door dasher so I had visited this establishment many times the past few months. I am local to the area and honestly never thought to eat here because of curb appeal but after dashing and talking with staff I realized I may be looking over a hole in the wall gem, besides I try and support locally owned small businesses. I checked all reviews, slept on it a few weeks and planned out a meal for take out. I had ordered pork fried rice for a friend and although it was a large portion it had no taste to be had and my friend refused to eat it. I had personally order kung pow chicken and Szechuan chicken to share. I don’t even know how to describe the taste or cut of chicken used but again portion was large but I couldn’t even finish one bite. I immediately returned the food to the establishment. The staff was okay with me returning it although they weren’t kind to me after this. The ladies working asked me why I wanted to return the 3 meals and I only had one word for them and that was “disgusting!” I genuinely feel bad for these folks. Don’t be fooled by all the five star reviews because I’m certain those are from the previous owners efforts and hard work. If you like food and have knowledge of good food remain clear of this...
Read morefirst time & i only saw this place because i was at the hardware store nearby. it doesnt even show up on google maps unless you zoom in really close.
best fried rice ive had in portland. every other place ive tried seems to think fried rice is steamed riced with oil on it. these people actually do it right, i loved it & they gave me a proper portion for $9.50.
workers were very polite efficient, i cant wait to come back, keep it up!
update: 3 weeks later came back for the same plate plus a tea, they charged me $18 & didnt include any spring rolls this time. i didnt notice until i left. that sucked.
almost gave them another chance but they didnt want to take a phone order. im usually on the go in a hurry, so a phone order is to save me time, sometimes 15 minutes is too long. i ended up going to 7eleven instead. that sucked too. i dont think ill...
Read moreOriginally, this place was excellent. Then ownership changed and it has steadily gone down hill. Our last meal topped it off. We will no longer be ordering from here. First, they gave us the wrong order (to-go). So we went back and yet again they gave us the wrong order. We said OK, too much work to return. We started dishing out the food it was soaked in oil and very sloppy. Also, the meat to slope ration was dismal. My kids usually eat anything (as do I) and we all turned our noses. Very disappointed in the quality of the food. Safeway makes a better to-go order for a fraction of the price. Sorry for the bad review but this was the last straw. We ended up throwing away all the food (yes, it was that bad)! We miss you Andy Chan. The place is...
