Lake Stevens School District — Local services in Lake Stevens

This entire district disrespects federal law and consistently violates religious freedom. If your family is of any other religion, or simply not religious. Be forewarned. I have gone as high as the Superintendent of the school district only to be ignored and see it get worse. Religious freedom is protecting an individual's right to practice their religion, personally. It is not the right to turn your music program into a Tabernacle. It does not give you the right to disrespect the mixing pot of religions that consist within this district or abuse your influence in a public school system by indoctrinating and forcing your students to sings songs about how amazing the Christian God is.

This is steaming much from a lack of diversity and seeing as I have kids in elementary, middle, and high school. They start them young and they think it's a joke.

On an individual basis, the school district is supportive of it's students regardless of background or who they are. However institutionally, the school district could do better in separating politics from the wellbeing of its students. There is also a lot of privilege in the community and the students (and various faculty) unfortunately often reflect this in their behaviors towards the less privileged. Extreme government overreach in this school district. The government employees' kids attend these schools and they bully the underprivileged. They take advantage of their privilege and use it to break laws and I have personally experienced harassment by these people in my home that work for the school and know the government employees.
