Itās pretty blah. The atmosphere - meh. The food - meh. The service - mehhhh. Why do people stare at their phones when they should be checking on customersā¦? Itās disappointing like this every time. I think Iāll stop trying. I want Mexican food with flavor and a punch to it, but the food here is just utterly and disappointingly blah. So very bland. The variety of salsas is a neat idea but none of them has any kick. The tortilla chips tasted old and stale, not warm and fresh. Carne Asada was really dry and tough. My spouse didnāt care for their enchiladas, either ⦠bland and flavorless. The tables were sticky and dirty which is a major ewww pet peeve and the amount of flies in there suggests that something isnāt being cleaned well. The bathroom (which is a gigantic indicator of how much a restaurant takes care of details) was atrocious on my most recent visit. So yeah, I wonāt be back. The āatmosphereā is just run down and depressing. It could be cute with a bit of creativity and a little bit of investment. Anyway, I am glad that there is a new taco truck nearby for when the Mexican food mood hits! I can take it to the lake for the best...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe most authentic Mexican food you can find in Lake Stevens. It's dining space is limited but service is prompt creating a good flow of traffic coming and going. You won't wait very long. They offer just the right amount of items of each type of food so you're not overwhelmed with options. It honestly was the perfect menu.
I had the chilaquiles in green sauce for breakfast and it tasted authentic. Crispy, fresh and delicious. Not spicy at all but can be adjusted for more heat if requested. The rice and beans also tasted as if made at home.
We ordered a short stack of pancakes to share and they did not disappoint. They tasted as if made on a comal, very subtle crisp edges that enhance their tastiness. The coffee tasted fresh and did not have that typical diner coffee taste that can only be described as dirty pot coffee. It was damn good.
Breakfast is offered all day but they offer youre standard Mexican lunch fare. Tacos, tortas, quesadillas etc.
Definitely a place you should try and support in Lake Stevens!
We keep coming back because it is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis cafe was an impressive example of human failure to prepare food. I ordered it via Uber Eats and got 3 omelettes and a fresh fruit crepe. The crepe was horribly prepared, and both the batter and the crepe itself were soaked in grease and dense, it looked like someone didn't know how to cook a crepe so they just watered down pancake batter with vegetable oil. The omelettes I'd asked for no hashbrowns, which to this depressing excuse for a restaurant apparently means "bake 3-4 cups of terrible frozen hashbrowns directly into the omelette" ruining any taste or flavour that might have been there and turning what was supposed to be a healthy meal into a carbohydrate abomination. The pancakes from here tasted like bisquick mix. If you're going to attempt to operate a restaurant at least make your own pancakes from scratch. I honestly feel this cafe is just a place that prepares the least expensive ingredients they could find from a warehouse grocery into what could pass as food if you don't have high...
