The building and apartments themselves are very nice but if you are going to rent an apartment please read this review carefully: The management staff is passive aggressive towards people of color and you will feel this at every step. They make it really difficult to move in and out of the apartment. We wanted to start selling our furniture in advance so we could get the best deals on Craigslist/marketplace but the rules of this building don't allow you to sell separate pieces of furniture by reserving the freight elevator again and again. They want to charge you money for everything, even to reserve freight elevator multiple times. On our actual move out day, we did not have furniture left so we did not need to reserve an elevator but the building rules state that you still have to reserve the elevator and pay the elevator reservation fees. What do I have to pay the fees for if I don't have anything to move out with? You can also only reserve freight elevators during work hours, so they'll tell you to not go to work and buy/sell stuff during work hours only. They will NOT adjust at all!
Very old school management and they do really hate...
Read moreIntimidated and disappointed in a certain division of the 3550 N Lake Shore Dr. As a new resident, the manager of a department refused to communicate with me to solve the problem.but he was extremely impatient and even ended up physically threatening me. He was very rude and savage, spoke very loudly to me. I felt a huge threat to this, and I even felt like he was going to take revenge on me. I am afraid to move into my new house now because I am afraid of his retaliation. He even made me have to abide and follow by his rules, however there were no paper documents and no advance notice before check in. I tried trying to communicate with him and in the end he even said he had the right to keep me out. Of course, I also have reason to suspect that he is discriminating against my color. Because it looks like I'm one of the few people of color here. I hope the general management company can coordinate this issue, because I no longer dare to communicate with him, I feel very scared. If not, maybe I'll turn to my lawyer, or do something else.
Of course, the managers of other departments are still very good...
