I recently visited this restaurant and had a rather disappointing experience. I ordered a burrito and attempted to explain in Spanish that I wanted the rice and beans on the side, not inside the burrito. I’m not sure if it was a miscommunication on my part or if the waitress misunderstood me, but I ended up with a burrito and an extra side dish.
At the end of the meal, I tried to clarify that I hadn’t intended to order an extra side dish. The waitress responded curtly, insisting that I had asked for it as a side. Her tone felt confrontational and made me feel powerless in the situation, as I was only trying to seek clarification.
The interaction left me feeling dejected and uncomfortable. While I can understand that working in a busy restaurant can be stressful, it felt rude and unprofessional. I left a tip out of empathy, recognizing the challenges that come with the job and the immigrant experience, but I regret doing so because the interaction was quite unpleasant.
I hope this feedback helps improve communication and customer service...
Read moreWe had a mixed experience at La Biznaga last night. I'd give this place 3.5 stars if I could.
We were a group of 4, and 2 of us really liked the food and 2 did not. The birria burrito and chorizo burrito were really good. The birria taco was good but our friend didn't care for the chicharron taco.
Our other friend wanted to order the enchiladas with both the red and green sauce, but the waiter told us they wouldn't do that. The enchiladas were served without much sauce, so we had to request more. I don't know why they couldn't just give both sauces with the dish in the first place--seemed odd.
The waiter seemed like he was new. He was nice enough generally, but he seemed to ignore one of our friends multiple times, which was irritating.
The restaurant does not split or do separate checks.
Overall, I'd try this place again because I enjoyed my food, but I'd stop short of recommending it to others given the odd service experience and inflexibility (enchilada sauce request, not...
Read moreI really wanted this place to workout. After seeing all the reviews I had high hopes, and brought some friends from out of town. We were all extremely disappointed.
For starters, the salsa was practically nonexistent. It was so watery there was nothing to actually dip into, not to mention I couldn’t even tell what it was made of. Then the chips were covered in oil. I understand some is needed to cook them but this was just excessive. For our entrees we had 2 burritos, a torta, and 2 tacos. My friends rated the steak burrito a 7/10, and the chorizo burrito a 3/10. The tortillas for the tacos were once again covered in oil, there were puddles on my plate. The filling itself was good though (Al Pastor and steak). The torta was the best of all, probably since it didn’t require oil. Although the food was not up our alley the service was great, so that’s why I added an extra star. Overall, would not recommend unless you want especially oily...
