I went to the store to return an item I purchased online and the manager said that don't take returns for underwear so I called customer service and they said you can go to any American eagle store to return as long as it's in new condition and unwashed and it was. I went back to the store and she still claimed that it wasn't possible until my mother walked in and she said, "because I know your mother I will allow it" she stood true that they don't take returns from aerie when on the back of the register it states they take all returns from both stores and she never heard of this policy when it's on the back of the register. Did some shopping while my daughter was home from college. American Eagle is always on the list of where we go. As soon as we entered, we were greeted by Isaiah, a sweet young man who informed us of sales, let us know that he was there if we needed anything. Online purchase and tried doing a return in store just to be asked by the manager by all this kinds of ids and proof of purchase, despite me having my online receipt. I still had to show her my id, and she questioned the address because im out of state visiting family . Had to showed my credit card, had to give her my phone for her to physically see the order email i got, and verify the last 4 of my credit card.
