The âshort and sweetâ version: This place manages with honor and pride. They put the customers first and I give them the highest score for customer service and all around great place to give your business.
Please read all of this, because for many reasons I give them 5 stars.
Now, if you want the detailed version, read on. As most do, my boyfriend was using the Internet to do some price comparing to make a purchase. For us, this was a fairly pricy purchase of a motorcycle. After doing much research, he found a one listed at Motoprimo that was in his price range. Feeling this was a good deal we decided to make the hour drive to check it out. Upon arrival, we were greeted and made to feel welcome. We were told that the next available person to take a test drive would be ready shorty. After seeing the relaxed atmosphere, I asked if I could bring my dog in so she could practice her training. Not only did they say yes, they gave her attention, listened to how I preferred them to interact with her so it helped in training but also made it a great experience for her to build her good citizen repertoire. While my boyfriend was on a test ride, the staff was friendly not to just my dog, but made wonderful conversation with me. The staff that I connected to most was a great gal that works there for fun. Yes, for fun. She is an RN and works full time as a nurse, but so enjoys working for Motoprimo, that she gives them her Saturday time. Seriously, when you work on you âday offâ you know it is because the place is awesome. When the boys came back from the test ride, it was apparent that he wanted the bike. The sales person got his calculator to get a total with tax, title and license. When he retuned with the price, I was shocked and disappointed. Somehow, there was over a $700 increase from what we had calculated. He had said the list price was $4,500, but I could have sworn that we saw it listed for $3799. With the increased price, the potential buyer was ready to drive the hour home with no bike. Being the amazing girlfriend that I am ;) ;) . I questioned it and said âletâs look it up and see what the webpage says.â Sure enough, there it was listed as $3799. I walked to the sales guy and told him what I had found. With his papers in front of him saying the higher price, the manger says âyes, they are right. It is listed at the lower price. We made a mistake. The lower price was before we put on new tires, fork seals and fluids. We changed the price on the computer in inventory, but forgot to do it on the website. Give it to them for the lower price.â Now, you need to understand that they did not need to do this. They could have easily said it was a mistake, let us leave, fix the error and have the next person pay the higher price and not lose $700. However, they did the RIGHT thing and respected that we came for what they had listed and would not let us leave with a bad taste in our mouths. For this reason, we will now drive the hour to buy accessories when needed. It doesnât end there. When I called to tell them that they are awesome and I wanted to write a review so the community could hear my loud cheers of praise, I said to the manager âyou didnât need to do that, I know you lost money â. His response was âYes, I needed to do it. It was the right thing to to. If not for you and other customers, we do not have a business.â So, in a world where so many want to make a buck no matter what, Motoprimo runs with pride, honor and respect. I canât say that I will drive the hour to pick up a coffee and popcorn soon, but I can say that I will definitely go there to get helmets and other items. If you live close and want a snack, stop in and get some fresh made popcorn. You may make friend or even decided to buy from them. If you donât live close, consider what is most important to you and the drive may be more than worth it. Thank you Motoprimo for being a stand up Motorsports retailer. You made a great impression, one that will keep us...
Read moreI read quite a few reviews before deciding to leave mine. This is what I see as a trend. 5 star reviews left of people who just bought a new bike/ATV/Snowmobile/etc... 3 star reviews of staff in parts, management , or service. 1 or 2 star reviews of the service Dept. So Motoprimo is this huge building with huge inventory and huge profit. They recognize the profit is in selling new machines and not in servicing anything especially older machines. There is a SERIOUS problem with the entire service Dept at Motoprimo. DO NOT GO HERE FOR SERVICE. THEY CHARGE 3x WHAT EVERY OTHER SHOP CHARGES!!! I have a Yamaha Raoadliner 1900.. took it there for service .. problems , looong wait time over a month, super expensive!! Took my Yamaha wolverine 350 there , the estimate to do recommended repairs was astonishing.. I had them do the one thing I requested and itâs still running fine today. Took my sons Raptor 80 to them 3 times and the carb problem is worse than ever and Iâm out $800-$1000 and gave up riding two wknds after waiting over two months. The final attempt was just this year. I called ahead and scheduled a drop off after explaining what I needed. I brought the atv in and the person I spoke to wasnât there and the apt was lost. So I explained again I need the CV joints fixed I hear them clicking. I also wanted some super basic handgrips installed , and a basic oil change. Iâm going riding in two weeks and need it back can this be done in that time? Yes ! They assured me. No calls ever from them. I called twice and they could never give me any info. Said they would call me back and never did. Two days until the trip and I call again and they now have an estimate to do the work , need to order parts , and just the estimate to do the work I requested is $620.00. Nothing actually done yet. And the cv joints to replace are $2200.00. So $2820.00 gets me back on the road. I cannot believe the absurd obvious rip off this place is. They guaranteed me it would be done for my trip and never gave me an update and did nothing to the machine and now two days to go and I have $620 in âestimate laborâ to pay and no chance to get it back to ride it on my planned trip. THANKS MOTOPRIMO ! Real classy. My grizzly will be replaced this year and my son has just about outgrown his raptor 80. So Iâll be buying a pair of them from anyone else. Moon, Leoâs , Marine 61, Cities edge. Motoprimo is not a place for service and you should keep that in mind before you buy something from them.. because it will eventually need servicing or repairs and you will be very very upset that you didnât go somewhere else first. This could be different if they didnât waste both my time and my money. I like good service and being respected and those things donât exist here. Itâs all about the sale and that it...
Read moreHad a terrible experience with them when I bought my motorcycle, and they don't seem to have improved. The experience is wonderful until you hand them the check. At that point they don't care about you, they are already working on the next sale, even if there are unresolved issues with yours. They dropped the ball in all three phases: parts, service and sales. When I bought the bike it included some after market parts that were to be added to seal the deal. I made the mistake of taking the bike home before the parts showed up. Turns out they were for a different model and not even available for the one that I bought. They didn't even make those accessories that fit on my year of bike, even though before the sale the parts guys swore they would fit. It took me multiple visits over two weeks to get them to even return my money for the parts that I couldn't use, they never did offer anything to make up for it. When I initially looked it over before taking it home, I noticed some bad chrome on the oil lines. I showed them to the salesperson and we went back to service to see if they could replace them. The service manager promised me that they would order them that day and I could have them installed when I came back to pick up my accessories. You can probably guess how that went for me. The parts were never ordered, and the manager somehow forgot that we ever discussed it. I ended up calling Yamaha and having the parts sent to another dealer, where I received excellent service. They also had a promotion going on that if you bought an extended warranty and didn't use it, they would refund the full purchase price at the end of the warranty period. The catch is that you have to keep the letter that they send you after the purchase for 5 years in order to claim your refund. No letter, no money. Lost the letter when your house burned down? Too bad. Even though they still have a record of the sale and the warranty agreement, it doesn't matter. We are talking about somewhere around $900, in case you are wondering. Even if you have to pay a little more, buy your bike somewhere else. These guys don't deserve your money.
Update: I did finally get the warranty money back. Had to jump through a couple hoops, but I received the check today. Maybe they actually read these reviews... Still doesn't change my overall experience, but I might give them another chance if I find a bike there at the right price. Maybe my first experience was a fluke, because if they treated everyone like that I doubt they would still be...
