Purchased a 2014 19' Keystone Bullet Premier in January. Was told everything was in working order after having gone through a 3-4 hour inspection. They would not show me the paperwork of the inspection. They tried to sell me warranty and insurance plans at an additional cost of $10K. After refusing the policies they reduced the offered policy pricing almost 50% to their "bottom line". Why wasn't this offered in the first place? I refused their offer. After assurance that the trailer had been winterized, I drove it home. Upon our first use of the trailer the first week in May, the fresh water tank was leaking through the belly skin and the pump did not develop pressure. After several unanswered or unreturned calls, I stopped in at the service dept to see what they could do for me to repair the situation. I spoke with both the store manager and the service dept manager and was told that it was my problem at my cost though obviously it was an existing situation at the time of purchase. The store manager told me that a 6 hour inspection had been done and all was good at the time of the sale. (Inspection went from 3-4 hours to 6). Still no paperwork to substantiate his claim. I was offered a free inspection and set it up for the following Wed. I was told it would be done in the next day or 2 but having not heard from them by the following Mon, I called them. After again several unanswered calls and unreturned messages I was able to finally get them to answer. I was told they had been busy but would get right on it. Later that day they called me back stating the inspection had been completed and the fresh water tank had a crack at the top of it and would cost me $1400 to repair and they were not liable and unwilling to pick up any of the costs and that I should have bought the warranty. I told them I was very unhappy with their offer and would get back to them in a couple hours after exploring my options. I found another repair service to do the work and called Camping World back. Again no answer or return message. This went on for another week and half with 8 more calls. I was trying to be courteous in setting up a convenient time for both of us to pick up the trailer. Finally someone answered and a pick up date was set for the following Sat, 2 1/2 weeks after I had dropped it off. They assured me it would be ready to be towed. I arrived and saw my trailer in the front parking lot with the belly skin cut open and flopping in the wind. Went to the service dept demanding it be affixed in place. They tell me they have no record of an inspection being done and couldn't explain why the belly had been cut open. After arguing and denials on their part they taped it up and I brought it home. The following Tue the repair service I had contacted came on time to my house as scheduled. We opened the belly skin and filled the tank. It started leaking as it reached full. He was skeptical on where the water was leaking from. He opened the cabinet for access to the water pump and found that a line to the pump had been disconnected and positioned by the low water drain to make it appear that the tank was compromised. The line connection to the pump is secured by a clamp that can only be released purposely. He secured the line, filled and tested the system and all was good. There was no crack in the tank. Cost of his trip and repair was $150. Shame on you Camping Chumps. You get...
Read moreBEWARE ... If you want to sell your camper, be prepared for a reverse bait and switch! One star is too many. We were told (and understand) that the estimated value was 11k (sight unseen)pending them looking over the camper. When we arrived a few days later with the camper, we were told 9k (sight unseen), and that it changes all the time. We opted to have them look it over to sell on consignment. That was where the nightmare begins. They took the keys and said they would pull it in, look it over and get back to us ... This was a Saturday. By Tuesday we hadn't heard anything so called and they said the camper was not going to be sellable due to what were minor things like a few scratches on the frosted cabinet doors, carpet needed cleaning (literally 2 feet in front of the couch and a small patch under the table), and the worn decals which we have a new set of already from the manufacturer. Then they mentioned a bulge on the floor which we never noticed weeks before when we had it out. It is very obvious now. The reason ? That is another story ... We said we would come and get it. When we arrived, our camper was sitting UNLOCKED by a dumpster in the back. The guy (Jake) said he would meet us back there, drove close on his golf cart, pointed and drove away. We couldn't even back up to hook up, and called the store. A nice guy came out( I.dont know his name but he was very helpful and kind) and while he was moving the garbage out of the way, my husband was on the phone with JAKE, who we were asking about the new jack, which was not ours. Jake claimed he had no knowledge of why there was a new jack, but the nice guy out there helping us said he knew what happened and said it bounced off the hitch while towing it in. It broke the jack so they gave us a new one ... Huh. Thanks, but were they going to TELL us about it? THEN, we had to pull it to flat ground to put on the tortion bars, and the jack didn't work (shoddy workmanship was causing it to short out)... We called Jake AGAIN, and said we couldn't hook it up properly, and he said he didn't have any service guys there. We said he needed to get someone there because it was their problem, and we were stuck there. He said he would see what he could do (5 minutes before closing time) ... My husband managed to get the bars on so we called to let them know, and guess what? No answer. We could still be sitting there as far as Jake was concerned, he never called to tell us he found someone to help us, or even that he found no one, NOTHING ... So now we have a damaged camper and their story has changed (as of today ) from IT BOUNCED OFF OF THE HITCH WHEN WE WERE TOWING IT to THE JACK HIT A POTHOLE ... And we were told it was insured when it was on their lot, but it's not insured if they deny the damage that was done, which they are denying. We have always taken great care, towed it safely and now what do we have? Thanks for nothing, in fact, thanks for WRECKING our camper making it most likely hard to sell now. And to JAKE, your leaving us in a parking lot without a call back is inexcusable. In most professions, I would hope a manager has a stern coaching session with you. I work in sales and leaving someone in that situation that YOUR BUSINESS created,...
Read moreI went to the store in forest lake. They just opened. I just went to check it out and see what it was like. I was not shopping for anything in particular, just simply looking around. I understand when I went in there that they were not fully set up however I was not impressed by their men’s footwear selection, nor the clothing.
My biggest problem was that I went to the back desk where they sell guns and I asked to see An m&p 15-22. For anyone who does not know what that is it is a .22 caliber A.R. 15 style weapon.
The lady working the desk did not know what she was even looking for. After I pointed out the product that I was looking at she handed it to me. I had a gun in my hand for about 30 seconds when she asked me if I had my permit to purchase. Which at the time I did not. However in Minnesota the state law does not require you to have a permit to purchase to hold the weapon only to purchase it. I am 19 years old have all my firearm safety certificates and to be honest the gun was completely unloaded there was no ammunition near it and there was a trigger lock So what was I going to do with it? Immediately after hearing that I did not have my permit to purchase she basically ripped the gun back out of my hands and started acting like I was going to start shooting or something. So I politely explained to her that in Minnesota at 18 years old you are eligible to purchase that weapon. All you need is to go to your local sheriffs department tell them what you want they’ll run a permit to purchase background check and give you your permit and you can purchase that weapon She got upset with me and told me that I was incorrect and I should go check my sources, I told her that I got that information from the Chicago County sheriffs department she told me that they were wrong and that maybe I should go check again if I thought that that was the law because the law has never been and I didn’t know what I was talking about. And she was upset and disrespectful about it too. Long story short it was a mild argument and I was really unhappy that not only was she rude but she clearly had no idea the MN laws and would have pushed away a customer who is fully eligible to purchase that product. So being quite irritated I walked a few steps away from the counter because She clearly didn’t want me anywhere near the counter And I looked up the MN laws. She kept her eye on me like I was going to do something wrong. Seriously?
After a few minutes she came over to me and said that apparently the laws were not what she thought they were and according to the other guy there I could actually purchased that weapon at 18 years old. Then she just looked at me and said “well it’s been one of those days” and walked away. No apology or anything after she got irritated with me when I was completely abiding by the law.
Maybe they could get some people who actually know what their doing in that department and have a better attitude.
I would still shop other departments because I don’t just not shop somewhere because someone irritates me but I will never purchase a...
