The customer service at this hotel is top notch. I was traveling with two children and we came to this hotel after spending the day at ValleyFair in Shakopee. When we arrived the front desk staff was very friendly and efficient. I after check in, I had an issue with my call phone and was unable to use it. I went to the front desk to ask for suggestions of places that would deliver after 10 pm. He was gave us suggestions, based on not having a phone to use Grub Hub or those services. Once we were settled in, we realized the TV didn't work. He came to our room within minutes and determined that he wasn't able to fix it but he could move us to another room. He left and when he came back he asked me to approve the room that he could offer us, before we moved into it. It was more than satisfactory, he upgraded us to a king quite. It had a king bed and a pull out couch, which was perfect! In the morning the breakfast was good. They has several choices of cereal, assorted breads, yogurt, two juice choices, fruit, waffles, eggs, and bacon. Both rooms that we were in were clean and very comfortable. The beds were great and the atmosphere was relaxing. The pool and hot tub were perfect after a long day on our feet. Before checking out, I asked if there was a business area I could use to print out directions. The front desk attendant confirmed that they did, but if it would be quicker, she could print them out for me. She looked up where we were going as well as how to get home from our last destination and printed out the directions for both. Everyone that works here that I encountered was wonderful and the business owners should be proud to have them there. They made a potentially bad start to a week end so much better. We live about 2 hours from the cities, so we do stay up there when we come. We will definitely be staying here again. It is worth staying here and driving an extra few minutes to where we might be going just for the wonderful...
Read moreJuly 5, 2014 If you can drive on down the road do so. Told by the front desk clerk that "cash is not king" when checking in. First hotel I have come across in all of our stays that would not rent a room for cash. Front desk clerk would not provide a number for the general manager, nor would provide an email for him. Stated that was against policy. Having stayed previously at several AmericInn Lodge & Suites I knew this to be inaccurate. I have always had a personal email to follow up on our stays from the manager of whatever location we have stayed in. We checked in....got to our room and tons of issues. At this point I went back to the front desk clerk and asked if there was a housekeeper on duty....her reply was "what's the problem now?" very snide. I told her I would really like her to come down to the room to see the issues at which point she refused and asked again what was wrong with the room. It was absolutely filthy. Popcorn kernel on the bathroom floor (which clearly tells you they didn't even mop the floor in between guests), lettuce in the microwave, dust on the headboard, when checking the bed for signs of bed bugs ( I do this everywhere we stay) every corner of the mattress pad had 6-8 inch holes in it, there was something spilled down the wall, big cobwebs in the corner and tons of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, bathroom light was full of debris. The door to the room was also not functioning properly from the inside...I tried more than five times to get out and couldn't get the latch on the door handle to release. The room was very dated, low lighting not even bright enough to really see in the room. One wall was patched multiple times and painted with a different color than the original paint. The vending area/hallway to the room was covered with dirt and pieces of paper. At this point the front desk clerk offered us a refund and told us to go down the road....
Read moreUpon walking in the room I was greeted by the usual hotel room... a bit better furniture than a motel 6. It looked rather decent. Upon closer look there were white splotches on our bed covers. Not unlike male ejaculate, seriously. They were obviously not washed between guests, these splotches looked like you could scratch them off with your fingernails gag
I've stayed at cheaper places and got better pillows. These are like semi soft extra large bricks.
We went into the pool area and I was surprised by the later hour they were open. I was unable to take advantage of this though, as an alarm started sounding from the pool maintenance room and made it unbearable for me to remain any longer. A lady who worked here came and went, but did not shut off the alarm. I'm sure it was probably one of those tiny people alarms that go off just to scare little people away, which I would have to say was a good thing. They left, but I had to leave too. If only they could make it inaudible to adult ears.
The pool also was over treated as was the hot tub. Both made my throat and eyes sting incessantly just from inhaling the vapors. I'm sure I lost a year off my life by the abundance of chemicals I absorbed.
The towels are like 60 grit sandpaper, at best. I'm sure I ended up well exfoliated.
Average hotel. Below average prices. 120 for a Friday. My...
