Focus Camera — Local services in Lakewood Township

What a horrific store. I brought my camera in for repair in February. Haven't heard from them in months. 7 months later they call me to say your camera is ready for pick up. I immediately noticed my battery was missing from my camera. I wanted to test it before I paid for the repair. They said they didn't have a battery for a cannon EOS even though the sell them. I also noticed my camera cover was missing, they shipped my camera with an open exposed lenses opening. During the 7 months, I had lost hundreds of dollars hiring a photographer to take pictures of my listings. I am a real estate broker. They offered no discounts or any compensation at all. This was the day my step daughter was getting married. So I bought another battery so.i can have pictures of this special day. When I put the new battery in , it was still broken (can not read SD card) as the day I dropped it off over 7 months ago. A guest at the wedding who used to work for B+H said the camera was never opened. What a scam, what a horrible company. I would never advise any of you to waste your money on such an incompetent, untrustworthy company who does not care about their consumers. It took 2 days for them to figure out how to refund the money I paid for a repair that never happened. Avoid this store as they do not value you as a customer nor do they have competence or credibility of caring...

I purchased a Ryzen CPU from Focus Camera through their eBay store and had a terrible experience. They failed to disclose that this was actually a drop-ship item from Amazon, which created numerous issues. When I tried to have them add my apartment's door code to the delivery instructions (so the driver could actually access my building), their only response was that I needed to contact Amazon directly to provide the door code. This was impossible since the order wasn't under my Amazon account, so Amazon couldn't help me. Predictably, the package was lost because the delivery driver couldn't access my building. When I contacted Focus Camera about this problem, they again deflected responsibility and told me to deal with Amazon directly - despite the fact that I never ordered anything from Amazon! I ordered from Focus Camera on eBay, so they should have handled this situation. The lack of transparency about their drop-shipping practices and their unwillingness to take responsibility for the order I placed with THEM resulted in a lost package and wasted time. After much research, I decided to purchase a bridge type camera to replace my heavier equipment. I visited a number of camera shops without much success. Either they were too busy, or didn’t have what I wanted in stock or they just weren’t inclined to be helpful. I decided to try one more time and found Focus Camera on Avenue of the States in Lakewood, NJ. What a great experience! The gentleman that helped me, Jon Mullin, was friendly, helpful and most importantly, knowledgeable about cameras and knew the right questions to ask to help me decide what to buy. The store was well stocked, clean, organized and had a welcoming atmosphere. I was completely satisfied with my experience there and will definitely return when it’s time to make another purchase.
