From checking in with security, the reception area, and even how the staff handled a disorderly patient, I was pleased with my Emergency visit.
Once checked in, the PA evaluated me and listened to my symptoms. She sat down and listened and I didn't feel like she was only listening to chart, but actually focused on my concerns actively. In doing so, I was properly diagnosed without having to undergo several tests or referrals. All the orders placed were able to zero-in to what was happening to me that night.
My nurse was Jessica and she was so attentive to my needs. She made sure to communicate everything with the ER doc, and promptly gave my medications.
I never had to wait a full minute for my call light to be answered.
Dr Brown was my ER Doc. I was seen within minutes of being in the room. Examined within minutes, and 30 minutes later I was being given medications to manage my pain and symptoms. This made the wait for ultrasound and results so much tolerable because I was comfortable.
Dr Brown was super kind and was thorough about the clinical decisions of my care. He has a genuine concern and big heart for his patients and he did not miss a beat. He was attentive and I didn't feel devalued at all into 'just another patient.'
As an RN of 10 years, I understand how difficult it is for providers to go above and beyond, with the limited time and resources at our disposal. This team made it look like it's their status quo to be patient-centered; however their night is going (there were patients that were acting disorderly during my stay). They kept their head in the game.
I've been to a few ER visits and this facility...
Read moreSo I had a resident she was nice but bad bedside manner. She did a pelvic exam and wanted the MD to double check. I was fine with that. However, she left me uncovered lying on the exam table while she had her hands on my knees and said he'll be here in a minute just wait. As though I were going to run out. As far as getting a hold of a doctor I went into preterm labor and had to go to the ER twice. I never got a hold of the doctor. The answering service never worked and had to walk through security while in labor. They admitted it was a problem and patients would suffer while the new system was working out its kinks. After I delivered my son who passed away shortly after delivery I had a follow-up a few days later. I had placenta still coming out. The receptionist asked if I brought the baby. I was so heartbroken. After all this I complained to the director of medicine and he treated me like garbage and said I'm sorry for your miscarriage very rudely. He then walked out. The medical assistant thought my 3 year old son was there for a visit not me. And the only one who actually cares was the CNP who looked at me. She was kind and compassionate and she actually cried. I'm grateful I saw her. Cause I still have hope there are good caring people in this world. I would say don't go here. I will...
Read moreI was traveling through Ohio and unfortunately had to go to the Cleveland Clinic Lakewood Campus Emergency Room due to an unknown allergic food reaction. The care I received was quick and adequate. However, I later received a bill with a fraudulent charge of $1,050 for 2 hours of IV fluid that I never received. I am a current board certified internal medicine physician from another state and a hospitalist and was very aware of what treatment I received. The billing department states that since this saline charge was on my bill that it must have been treatment that was provided. I never received any bolus or continuous IV fluids running during my brief stay, nor should I have had as I had no signs of end-organ damage; however, their billing states I received 2 hours of continuous IV fluid which I did not. While I understand Cleveland Clinic is one of the more expensive hospitals in America (given their reputation) with their average hospital emergency room costs, they padded my bill with fraudulent charges for medication (2 hours of lactated ringer's saline) that I did not receive. It is important that such fraudulent activity not go unnoticed nor unpunished so I am thus filing a claim with the BBB, in addition, to taking legal action so that such future events can...
