I called 15 minutes before my appointment today to notify that I was probably going to be late, as I was literally at a dead stop on Route 2 because they had two lanes blocked off due to an accident. I was told no problem. I was 16 minutes late for my appointment. It took me an hour to get there in what is normally a 20 minute drive. When I arrived I was told I would have to reschedule. Even though my hair is less than 3" long and merely needed a trim. The part I found most aggravating is that my stylist couldn't even come out of the back room to tell me herself, instead she had one of the other girls come out to tell me. I would have gladly waited, skipped the shampoo, whatever it took....there was still 15 minutes left in my half hour appointment slot, plenty of time to fit in my trim. Not only was I not worth taking ten minutes to get a simple trim (after being stuck in my car for an hour trying to get there), I wasn't even worth ten seconds for my stylist to come out of the back room and tell me herself. Disgraceful. Kala, I hope you liked the gift I took my precious time to put together for you. I'm sorry you didn't think I was worth squeezing in for a quick service after a long and stressful ride there, or even worth telling...

The only reason I canāt rate this 5 stars is that I needed an adjustment to a haircut I wasnāt totally happy with, so I came back the next day to do so. I was not expecting to have to pay for another full haircut for a 20 minute fix up, I was under the impression I would just need to pop in for any adjustments. I have a hard time with confrontation and expressing myself, so I said I was happy with the haircut I was initially given as to not hurt any feelings and that Iād be happier with the adjustment I came in again for- I suppose that is enough to charge for another full haircut in their eyes. Iāve just never been charged for a quick fix up especially not a full haircut amount. I was looking forward to establishing regular hair care here, but I donāt think Iāll be back despite the fact that I got a good cut in the end. So, if youāre giving this place a try for the first time, Iād suggest you slow down and really make sure youāre entirely happy with the cut before stepping out...

I was changing up my hair for the first time (kind of ever), and Lane was amazing with making me feel comfortable, and figuring out what we could do to create the change I wanted without doing too much at once. As someone who previously experienced issues with a hair stylist that resulted in permanent hair damage, Lane was by far the most conscious and patient person Iāve been to. I appreciated the little check-ups - making sure water temp wasnāt too high, making sure it was okay to use a straight razor, making sure it was okay to touch my hair during the consult. While to some this may be typical for their hair stylist, it was the first time Iāve experienced this kind of forethought from a stylist. Not only did I end up with a hair cut I loved, but I also had a low-stress experience, which for me is rare.
