I enjoy caring for small animals, particularly, hamsters, rats, and rabbits.
In the past I have been to numerous pet shops and veterinarians, and have asked them all about various tips on how best to take of them, regarding their health and happiness, what to feed them, and how to prevent them from contracting illnesses. (Mainly wet-tail, since Unfortunately I have had a few pets pass away from it) none of them were as attentive and informative and kind as the employee staff at pet world! =D
One of the kind gentleman , took the liberty of showing me all the products in the pet care aisles, and very thoroughly explained the best way to keep my new hamster, happy and healthy. He also explained in great details the most common ways animals contract wet-tale, and how to prevent it from happening. Many of the questions he was able to answer, were things trained veterinarians didn’t even know the answers to when I asked in the past.
When I was finished purchasing all the items I needed he even to the liberty to assist me carying, and loading them into my car.
I would most definitely recommend this pet shop to anyone, over...
Read moreThis is a really great place, I went there for the fish! I was helped by a very knowledgeable staff member (I don't remember their name but they were short and very nice), and we discussed possibilities for my pre-established community tank. Prices were great, and I really appreciate the way they care for the fish. Fish are quarantined if they're new or sick and won't be sold until they're better. Bettas are kept in community tanks if the temperment is right or on their own in large tanks, no tiny cups here! It let me watch the betta's interactions and pick a very chill one that would work with my platies & corys. :) If fish don't work out you can surrender them here for care, and they will call you if they get a certain type of fish you're looking for. They also have saltwater fish and a good selection of the non-basic ones. Also multiple options for live plants to go into tanks, which I love. Not a ton of like gravel options and stuff like that, but if you want to go somewhere that takes care of their fish better than petsmart, come here. Only been once but...
Read moreI have several breeds of finches which I have had for a long time. No health issues, clean cage, an NO monoxide leaks in my house. I recently bought a Pin Tail Wydah. I put the pin tail in a large cage with my other birds. Within days of adding this bird to the cage two of my Cutthroat finches, 1 of my society finches, and both of my Pin Tails (including the one I just bought) all died. They did not all die together though - instead one by one they would become lethargic, had blood in their feces, and would die. Over the last 2 weeks 5 of my previously perfectly healthy birds have died. I called the store and they told me tough and that the bird was healthy when they had it. HOW COINCIDENTAL that as soon as I put it in a cage with all of my healthy birds they all start dying. I still have 6 living birds, 2 more are exhibiting symptoms. I have them quarantined, but I fear that all my birds are infected. I would say I've lost about $1,000 worth of birds (once the rest die) as a result of buying a bird from pet world. And all I get is attitude when I call them...
