Serendipity served as the caterer, day-of coordinator, and coordinator of florals and rentals for our Summer 2021 wedding. They did not meet expectations in any department as they overbooked themselves and failed to communicate effectively with us and the other vendors they were supposed to interface with. Luckily, the day-of went off without a hitch - but getting there was like herding cats and left my wife and I much more stressed out than we should have been. Serendipity had some staff turnover and lost our initial contact - and seemingly all of the information and planning we had done with her. As part of this failed staffing transition we: did not get the rentals we coordinated 3 months out, as 2 days before the wedding Serendipity discovered they had not been reserved and were no longer available. We had checked in on Serendipity reserving the rentals 5 times and been reassured it was done. did not get assigned a day-of coordinator until 3 weeks before our wedding did not meet the day-of coordinator until the rehearsal dinner the night before did not do a venue walkthrough with the day-of coordinator or the catering captain as they both bailed last minute after we took off work to make a time that (supposedly) worked for them. The Catering Director did show up to the walkthrough to her credit - but was not going to be at our wedding day-of, and so did not reassure us much that the day-of coordinator and catering captain would be on the same page. did not return all the rentals properly as Serendipity took the wrong ones back with them and then sat on them for a week....We finally got an email on our honeymoon about being charged for the missing rentals and had to coordinate Serendipity returning them to the correct company - even though they had all the other vendors information and knew they had extra rentals that were not theirs.
Again - our day-of did go smoothly and we were happy with the food and service, but the extreme lack of communication and professionalism made for so much extra stress that could have been easily avoided. I think they have severely overbooked themselves for the staffing they have and would not recommend entering into a contract with them - as the stress it will put on you is not worth it.
EDIT: Serendipity has since reached out to make amends and do all they could to make this situation right. We still had the experience we had - but the company definitely cares about their customers and is working to correct the staffing and...

Like everyone else I had the pleasure of working with at Serendipity, Franco and his team went above and beyond to be accommodating, professional, helpful, patient, and kind. Franco’s walk-through gave us all such confidence, and he and his team did not disappoint when the big night finally arrived.
They arrived on time and launched right in with setting everything up to look perfect. Throughout the evening, they did everything in their power to ensure sure our guests had a wonderful experience. Franco thought of every little detail, staying one step ahead of me to make sure the run of show I had laid out was implemented perfectly. The food was exquisitely presented and delicious. The service was beyond exceptional.
Franco asked questions at every turn to make sure what he and his team were doing aligned with my vision for how things would flow and how they would look. He even went to the effort to make sure the appetizers provided by another sponsor were presented beautifully in dishes borrowed from the venue (instead of in plastic containers).
At one point, a guest with health and mobility issues requested a chair during the welcome remarks in the upstairs gallery. No sooner had I turned around to fetch a chair downstairs than I came face-to-face with Franco, exiting the elevator, chair in hand! He had seen her struggling on the way up, and he immediately leapt into action. Once again, he anticipated our every need before we could even voice the need.
At the end of the evening, the staff cleaned up quickly and efficiently, washing all the dishes, including the borrowed ones; breaking down the tables and chairs; and even helping us carry the chairs and tables we had borrowed to our vehicles for loading. At one point, the sink clogged, and I ran to get my husband to help. By the time the two of us got back up to the kitchen area, Franco had already fixed the sink.
I could not have asked for a better team to support our event. Serendipity’s professionalism, presentation, food, and service far exceeded my expectations, going above and beyond what I’ve experienced with any other local caterer.

If you use them for your wedding, they will take excellent care of you starting on day one, and continuing on to after the event. They had reached out to us after our wedding requesting feedback and we provided our honest feedback about pretty much every aspect. We had multiple notes at our tasting that all got implemented beautifully, but we had some components that we were disappointed about. Brie from Serendipity took responsibility for any aspects in their control, and took the time to politely explain why other aspects occurred the way that they did, and they all made perfect sense. There was no inkling of defensiveness, Brie truly was just looking to gather information in order to ensure continued improvement. Not only that, they had already started implementing new procedures and testing different ways to execute these aspects. Customer service is their number one priority, and it shows! We primarily worked with the catering captain, Jillian, and Brie. As for the feedback we provided them, We were assured that our complaints will not happen again, and I fully trust this to be so and Brie listed each of the process improvement plans being implemented. We are BLOWN AWAY by how seriously they took our feedback and how much care they put into making this the best day of our lives. I will 100% be using Serendipity for any and all future catering needs and I strongly encourage you to do the same! Our positives-The cocktail hour spread was beautiful-The ice cream was the best ice cream I think I've ever had and their entire dessert spread was magnificent -When I say they took our feedback from the tasting and made those changes, I truly mean it! - The salmon was cooked to perfection which I can imagine is no easy task for this many people -The customer service from Brie and Jillian is unmatched Our negatives-The bride and groom meals were cold because there was a miscommunication about the timeline that we were unaware of until after the fact. It really was not a matter of their ability to keep food warm for 130 people, rather a timeline issue. -The bread was dry, but that happens! They are literally testing new ways to make sure the bread stays better in the future because of this feedback. All in all...
