I really wanted to love Top Knotch salon as I was referred by a friend, however, I have had the worst experience with them. Upon the first wash (I used color protecting shampoo and condition), my hair dried to be tinsel/metallic like, with parts of my hair turning BLUE. My money pieces ended up being platinum while ends were brown which when she asked me what I was looking for, I specifically said I hate when the top and bottom are two different colors which is why I left my previous stylist. She said she understood, but clearly the end result did not match the top and bottom colors. I was super disheartened as this was one day prior to my bridal shower. Immediately I reached out for a refund, requested a full bc not only did I have to figure out what to do, but I also had to fix it within 24 hours. The team has been super unresponsive and initially offered me a whopping low refund of $20.
Additionally to the absolutely terrible job they did on my hair, they misled me on the prices. I screenshotted the website to show them the price of when I booked vs what they charged and they have failed to address it. They stylist claimed to the manager that she consulted with me about prices and made me aware of the add ons and change of prices, but that was yet another lie. Also when I called a week before my appointment to confirm my slot, no one had once again informed me about these “price changes”.
I would not recommend this place to anyone, I cannot express how upset I am, especially for this to happen during a very special time in my life. I had to use emergency dye to fix it before my bridal shower and now need to figure out a more permanent solution for the remainder of my wedding events.
I am disappointed with their unresponsive, and the lack of owning up to their mistakes. I always saw the same stylist and never had an issue my second to last time there I noticed that the underneath hair on the back of my head was basically untouched after four expensive sessions trying to get as blonde as possible. I wasn’t going to back and never said anything but I figured I give it another chance and just let them know what happened. The owner suggested I see their master stylist who is also the manager of the salon and she guaranteed I would be happy. I saw her on July 22nd 2022 leaving my hair was not nearly as blonde as the other stylist got me ( I’m already blonde my roots were just grown out and I needed a toner) but I didn’t think it looked bad however I was never shown the back of my head maybe 4 days later a family member told me how bad it was and took pictures of the back of my head so I could see. It is horrible I reached out to the salon and the owner asked me to come in the next day for a glaze/tone I at first agreed but had something come up the next day and I also knew a glaze would not fix the problem I left a van and never heard back so I sent a message to the salon via instagram with pictures of my hair no response so I called again (this was all within a week of my service) I finally get a hold of the owner and she was nasty as ever implied I was lying to get my money back and would not work with me at all. Read moreI scheduled two appointments. The first appointment i received a phone call a day prior that its canceled. So i reschedule 1 1/2 hours prior to my appointment I receive a call and its canceled. This is after I stressed how much I needed this appointment. Kristi didnt even put in effort with asking or looking for any availability for today, I had to ask her then I was placed on hold. The best she can do is the next day at a time frame that isnt realistic if im scheduling my times after 4pm each time.
My advice if your a new client and have a special event after the 1st cancelation just start looking for another salon.
Canceling a appointment 1 1/2 hours prior is very unprofessional. Next time dont tell your new client that you knew the stylist was sick prior and just hoped she could pull today off. The inconsideration of your clients time and health ....wow This is why I advised that im not rescheduling and hung up.
