I was excited about this place because I heard great things from other ladies and I saw so many dress styles online that I loved. I drove from out of town (Kalamazoo) with two of my ladies and we arrived about 25 minutes early. We waited outside for just a few minutes but then I decided to call to check in. The lady that answered seemed surprised that we might be early and said that if we were here and wanted to we could just come in and wait in the lobby. Not an awful response but I saw other brides after me greeted with cheer and employees actually opened the door for them. I heard an employee compliment the bride, chat with her, asked her if anyone needed to use the restroom etc. Basically I witnessed extremely different greetings from myself and the two other brides that I watched come in. Once it was 15/20 min into my appt time, I went to find someone to ask where a bathroom was. When I returned from the bathroom my assigned consultant had come down and was waiting for me. At that point we went up the elevator to "Bridal Heaven". My consultant didn't say too much but did compliment my friend on the way up. When we were up there she showed us where I would be changing and asked what I liked style wise. She kind of interrupted me while I was explaining and said we could look around while she goes to pull some dresses. We looked around and I saw some I liked but my consultant never asked if I liked anything and eventually I had to make it a point to interrupt her and tell her some examples of what I liked on the floor. Honestly the entire experience was me waiting 10 minutes for her to come back with a dress, maybe two, for me to try something on myself, look in the mirror wondering where she went, taking off the dress and waiting for it to repeat. Each dress she asked if this is the one and if anything I've tried on anywhere might be the one. She seemed defeated from the beginning and didn't really seem like she was trying to help me find a dress there. All in all, my consultant wasn't helpful to me, she mumbled a lot and then would disappear, and in the end when we were leaving, she asked what my name was so she could mark my favorite option in my account. I also gave a budget range of staying under $2000 which I was told was very manageable as most styles were $1500-1800, however every single dress she picked out for me was over $2000. Later I also found out online that I was there when they were having a big sale but that was never mentioned or offered to me as an option. I saw another bride with a consultant that seemed to be having an amazing experience; I just don't think it was meant to be for me and this...
Read moreAfter going to each bridal store in my area, some more than twice, I decided to travel a little. So I made a 2.5hr trip to Fantastic Finds. I was extremely transparent with them from the beginning. I was so overwhelmed and wasn’t sure what I wanted so it was going to be a challenge. It started off good and I found a dress I liked that I never thought I’d wear and liked the idea of surprising everyone. My moh took pictures I put a deposit down and off we went. As I was looking at photos something just seemed off and I had wished I looked at them before we left. I called the store and they were extremely understanding and Donna, our sales consultant agreed to come in early the next morning to help me. I was so excited to finally have someone actually want to help, or so it seemed. It started out good as it had before, but then I had a bit of a moment and my moh suggested I just go back with what my first vision was so we switched back to ball gowns, back story and why I had become so conflicted; I wanted a ball gown but I was being opened minded and tried on a fit n flare and fell in love with a dress but it didn’t work out. Donna started out by bringing me a dress that was completely out of my budget and even said so. However, I tried it on anyways because I knew it wasn’t a material I’d ever wear. I found my confirmation! Ballgown it is. We start the hunt for a ball gown after the third one I started to realize she was bringing me dresses that were at the top of my budget and with taxes would put me over. We asked to see the sales floor, not once but four times. Finally her response was, I said we’d go. Well she went down there without me! She brought up one dress that was 5 sizes to big! Stating it’s the only one down there that I’d like. Luckily enough for me, I found my dress while she was down there. My problem was one, why wasn’t I allowed to view the sales floor, two, when I kept referring to prices being at the top of my budget and I wasn’t comfortable with that, why continue do bring them, three she was extremely nice until we mentioned the sales floor or anything that to me, seemed would lower her commission. Now being in sales myself, if I had found a dress that was a lot less expensive, I would have tipped her good to make up for the commission loss. I was never given...
Read moreI purchased my wedding dress here and was thrilled. My dress is beautiful, and my consultant was amazing. However, the experience with my bridesmaids dresses has been a nightmare. The consultant that helped with the bridesmaids dresses needs a new job. She didn’t help us find any of the dresses or offer any suggestions, we just ran free - fine. But after finding the dress we all loved with no help from her she managed to find a way to body shame all 6 of my bridesmaids. Every one of them has a different shape and size and no matter if they were a size 0 or plus size, she had some absolutely rude comment to say to them and was not quiet about it. She made everyone size up significantly, more so than they were comfortable with. I understand it’s easier to alter a dress smaller if it’s too big than the other way around, but these dresses are 2-3 sizes too big. They are spending serious money having to completely reconstruct the dress because they are swimming in them - bust, waist, hips, all of it. Seriously, the 20% off discount they got for me having had bought my wedding dress there doesn’t even come close to how much money they are having to spend on alterations that shouldn’t have been that severe in the first place. Also - make sure you go WAY in advance to shop for dresses because when my bridesmaids’ dresses came in, the dresses were two different colors, on the same dress. Fantastic Finds did rectify that issue for me but the stress and financial strain that my bridesmaids have to endure because of one consultant’s inadequacy and unprofessionalism is not worth it.
UPDATE: A manager did reach out to me after posting this review to discuss my concerns. All she offered was to help recommend a place for alterations, but that’s not the issue. The place they went for alterations was great, it was the fact they were paying half the cost of their dress for them because once again, their consultant sized them ALL 3 sizes too big. I pretty much wasted my breath reiterating why we were unhappy and ultimately nothing was done about it. Trust me, take your bridesmaids elsewhere for...
