One of the best experiences ever. Everyone at the property was so helpful, kind and thoughtful. You can tell that their passionate about llamas and truly care about people. We were given the chance to spend time with each llama and get to know their own personalities. They’re beautiful animals and are very sweet. The entire experience took about 2.5 hours. The walk itself was not physically taxing. There are no areas that are difficult to walk through. Just be sure to wear the appropriate footwear.
Each person is given a bag of treats to feed their llama along the way, and there are plenty of stops to take photos. There’s a small gift shop at the end of the trip as well. There were a few young kids with our group, but the adults were having just as much fun as the kiddos. The experience is also very reasonably priced, including the items at the gift shop.
We took a Honda Accord and were able to navigate the county roads to the property, but it was a little bumpy. If you have the option, you might want to take a vehicle a truck or suv. It’s doable in a sedan, but not the smoothest.
Make the trip to go. You won’t regret it. It’s really a once in a...
Read moreI know what you are thinking, what could be fun about walking llamas around. Llama walk was wonderful! The knowledge about llamas Llama Mama and Llama Boy have is amazing. Periodically through the walk there is a pause to feed the llamas a snack, more information about llamas is given and you switch the llama you will walk. Each llama has a distinctive personality, and their caretakers have their personalities spot on. I made the reservations more than two months in advance, and yes that will need to be done in order to secure your spot on the walk (the walk is only during the cooler months of the year). My husband came because he had no choice and my daughter was iffy about walking llamas. Evidently I was tiring, which I was unaware of, because my husband decided to give me a break and walk our llama(s). My daughter never gave up her lead rope to either one of us. By the time we made it back to the car they were both smiling and asking when we could book...
Read moreI cannot say enough great things about my experience at Shangrillama! We did the llama walk and it was easily one of my favorite activities I've ever done. From start to finish, Mama Llama and Papa Llama were so kind and knowledgable about these sweet creatures. They and the other helpers were very accommodating and made sure everyone was having a great time, chatting with us along the way. The walk itself was just the right amount and you switch llamas along the way until you have walked all of them. Then you go back to the barn to take pictures and learn all about each llama. They are all so gentle and funny in their own ways! This is a perfect activity for both kids and adults. We are already looking forward to our next visit to see our favorites again! Thank you so much Shangrillama for this...
