Salon Plaza — Local services in Laurel

I went to Alicia's salon two prior to my appointment to have her access my hair and she said she could do caramel thin highlights touch up. When I arrived two days later, she rushed thru my hair and was yanking my hair I had to tell her she needed to slow down. At the end of my appt my highlights were BLONDE and thick. I was so upset but she said she couldn't fix it that day and I needed to come back next Tuesday. I got a call the following Tues and she said that her son had a school meeting at 7pm and asked if I could come the next day. As a mom myself, I agreed. Wed came and again I got a call saying that it was slow at the salon and she no one so she was going to close the shop early cause her 5pm appt had cancelled. I said no I would be there as agreed at 630 pm . When I arrived, there was someone at her chair she was finishing up and then later mentioned to me that it was her husband's birthday that evening and she needed to get home early. Not only was the service horrible, the owner was VERY DISHONEST! .. I would never go back nor recommend ANYONE to go there. Not even my worst enemy!...

This review is about Tarikah, AOT salon. Imagine going through the natural transition for years. You’re finally there, your hair is healthy, you decide to start going to a stylist who will care for it. The stylist decides to put a texturized in your hair, when you ask what it is, she says it’s a deep conditioner.

Now your hair is breaking a lot as it starts to go through the transition again. You had it at its longest in a long time and now you have to do the chop bc it’s just that bad looking. Some parts or long some are short. You have to start over.

Tarikah committee this crime. It should be a crime. If hair had nerves this would be painful. I never write reviews but who does this? Black women are finally proud of their natural hair. Be ware. Check every thing they use...

Horrible experience.. I took my grandma there before Christmas.. we literally waited more than 2 hours .fist of all the lady (hispanic lady shes in the secinf row to the left .) She wasn't doing anything to the lady that was there .. she could easily took 5 minutes of her time to cut an old lady's hair .. That really upset me because every 5 minutes she was taking a break and sitting down. Never going...
