I was looking to cater a small dinner at my house for 10-12 people. I chose Jamaican because we had a taste for island food. I called/emailed 4 places. When I didn’t hear back from them after 2 days, I went ahead and ordered through Negril thru their online system. I received a confirmation of my request, then a confirmation for the order and payment a couple days later. I appreciate the efficient ordering process.
The food was delicious. I ordered chicken and beef Pattie’s, peas and rice, jerk wings, fricassee chicken, oxtail, and curry goat. Everything was delicious! The oxtail and goat was soooo tender.
They met all of my expectations and would have earned 4 stars with me.
I reserve 5 stars, not because things are perfect, but to see how an establishment responds to adversity.
I arrived at 345 pm to pick up my order, scheduled for 4 pm. No one was in the shop. The guy at the counter met me with a smile, but said it still wasn’t ready and to come back at 4 pm. I came back around 4:10 pm and they said they were still packing it up. By this time, there was a line waiting to order and a few people waiting for their order.
As another gentleman started bring out my order, he realized that he was missing part of my order, and said it would take another 4 minutes to make it. I still needed to stop for ice and pick up a couple more things. I was pressed for time. But the 2nd gentleman worked with urgency and was apologetic when he realize the mistake in my order and for being late.
When my order was finally ready, he walked it out to my car and offered me a cold drink (it was a million degrees that day).
He earned the 5 star by being part of the solution, not add to the problem, have an attitude, or act like he was doing me a favor when I’ve paid for a service. The cold drink was icing on the cake.

My husband always gets carry out for from here and they are good. He never encountered a problem. I was around the area and decided to pick us up some dinner. I came in at 8:15pm, they close at 9, and the lady at the front counter looked at her watch with a very unpleasant expression. To be polite. I asked if they were closing. She answered, "depends on what you get! " I ordered 2 curry chickens, to go. She said ok. While she's taking my order on the CPU, 5 more ppl walk in. She greets them politely. So im thinking she only acts like that bc they are men. I ask how long? She tells me less then 10 minutes. I told her I'll walk next door to Sally's and be right back. She then catches an attitude and says "We close at 9!" My ticket said 8:20pm. I really have a whole 40 minutes! I just said. Ok, I'll be right back. I come back in about 10 and just waited as she's taking orders. The man who was behind me was walking out with his food and asked me if my ticket number was 286 bc he's was 287 and got his food. I didn't know they call numbers. Mind you this my first time. I walked to front counter and asked if she called 286? She rudely answered, "yes. Plenty of times! " she knew I went next door! Read moreI placed my order online today because last time I got here they were out of patties. I didn't want to waste my time going out of the way for this to happen again. I placed the order online and got a text to say my order is ready. I get there the order is not ready because they have no patties once again..I ask why send a tex saying the order was ready when it was not, as I purposely ordered online to not waste a trip and my time like I did last week. No answer. I asked do they automatically say it's ready without checking. no answer. I ask for my money back they say go on the app. Well I ordered it through their website. They say call Doordash. Well Doordash says to call the store with problems. I have placed an online complaint which can take 2 days for a response. Errors are one thing but the customer service from the young man the polite cashier deferred to was nothing. Not "would you like to try something else , sorry for the inconvenience" nothing, I don't even think he looked at me.
