Kohl's — Local services in Lawrence

I visited Kohls this morning to purchase some items for my family and left feeling severely regretful.

Some of the bad points include: The entire store looked and felt like a disaster. Carts of items were blocking but the main walkways and smaller paths inside each section. Navigating the store was difficult, at best.

Items was packed in so tightly it was difficult to locate anything. Worse, there were staff members EVERYWHERE stocking holiday items yet no one took it upon themselves to ask if I needed help (and seeing as the store was a giant mess, I did in fact need help locating all of the items I was looking for). Two of the departments I walked through several times in search of items, within the line of sight of multiple employees,and still no one asked if I needed help although my behavior clearly indicated that I did.

Worst of all: While shopping in the mens department I heard a woman frantically yell, "Ma'am!". I looked around but didn't see anyone. Suddenly, this creepy and unkempt women popped out from behind a shelf. Due to the panic in her voice I assumed that maybe I had dropped something. However, she yelled from several feet away inquiring about whether or not I had a Kohls card. Not only did I found this highly bizarre because under normal circumstances this is a question someone would ask during check out, but she didn't ask any of the other shoppers in the area. As I am sure it is not standard protocol to accost shoppers with credit card offers I got the feeling she was singling me out, like maybe she thought I was going to shoplift or something. Her behavior was highly inappropriate and rude.

I will not be returning to Kohls anytime soon. The store atmosphere was unwelcoming and the employees...

The store is clean and nicely presented. All the employees, regardless of their position, are consistantly nice and friendly and energetic, both with customers and each other, giving the store a pleasant atmosphere.

I've had multiple supervisors, both extremely good-natured, bend over backwards to resolve issues with online orders, with one even going so far as to apologize on behalf of the extremely rude treatment I received from the Khols Customer Service line (which is inherently awful to use to begin with, definitely contact your local store for assistance when it's necessary), where I was harassed by an employee who gave his name as Saeid.

As is typical for any Khol's store, returns and refunds are hassle-free, and the employees at this location even go so far as to make your returns and refunds feel welcomed (in the sense that the employees are warm and sympathetic to your considerations), rather than giving the impression that the returns are discouraged or something which is a bother to them. Honestly, I'm not sure I've ever shopped anywhere as pleasant as this location, be it within other Khols stores (of which I'm a long-standing, dedicated customer) or other stores in general.

That said, at least within the clearance sections I primarily browse through, there is a frequent tendency for clothes hangers to have size markers that don't match with the clothing they're associated with. This is of course not an issue if you're using the store for online pick-ups, but is a bit of a time-wasting nuisance when you're...

I went to several stores on Black Friday (Target, Walmart, Bed Bath and Beyond, and more) but this one was by far the most poorly organized. I don't like their digital signage on their clothing racks to begin with, but when it's 3am and you're trying to find specific brands, it's nearly impossible. They had displays in the aisle's, but I couldn't find price tags on anything. I carried the item to the price scanner and couldn't get it to scan. Their toy section seemed like an afterthought. It was crammed in the corner of the store, the aisles were VERY tight, everything was a mess and there was no sort of order at all. I was there for some jeans and a board game. Due to the state of the toy section, I had to ask an employee if they had the game in stock; they didn't. Overall, they could have done WAY better. I will say though, their deals on jeans were fantastic on Black Friday, and the gentleman that helped us check out was very nice and friendly. By far the best part of our Kohl's shopping...
