Please, if you live close enough to go to Gordon's Copy and Print on Fairfield Rd and Gentile, go there. If they can't take care of what you need, they will have their Bountiful office do it for you since it is bigger.
Why do I say this you ask? Let me describe my experience with Alphagraphics.
My fiance and I were in a slight rush to have our invitations printed and upon a call to Alphagraphics, they had a quick turn around time and had the capabilities we needed. Took the file to them to print, and got the invitations next day. Fast right? Yes, but they left off and entire portion of text that was in the file. "How did this happen," we asked. The answer we got was "well, I don't know." $100 down the drain.
Had to reprint them and got a discount of half, so now we were paying $50 because of their mess up and we decided since we have to reprint them let's change some text. Not to mention the color of them had a green tint instead of the sepia we had on the file, so we reproofed on a different machine and got the color we wanted. Fixed the file and took it to them same day to get reprinted, because remember, we need these pretty quickly.
Called four times to see the progress, and each time we got "it's been super busy so we haven't had time to prepare the file." For those of you that don't know what prepare the file means, you convert it from an Illustrator file to a PDF. Literally a 5 minute process. At about 5:30 pm, we made the last phone call checking on the progress, same answer. I ended up preparing the file on my own, taking it to them, and sitting down for the proofing process.
They asked if I'd like to wait for them, I declined knowing there is no way they would be completed that day as it was 15 minutes to closing. I said I'll have my fiance pick them up at 9:00 am tomorrow morning. 9:00 am rolls around the next morning and guess what, not done, "come back in half hour." Went back in half hour, guess what "come back in another half hour. We promise they will be done." Went back again in half hour and again they still were not done. Waited and hour and a half this time, STILL NOT DONE!! Are you joking? This time, my fiance waited in the store until they were finally completed. And guess what, they were green again, despite them insisting they printed them on the correct machine that we had reminded them about several times before they started printing the last time. At this point, we couldn't have them reprint and risk another 3 day process so we ended up having to keep them.
During this process, they said they were "really busy" when in fact I saw 2 out of the four people there wandering around not doing much to be productive at all.
Spare yourself this frustration, and find...
Read moreI never leave negative reviews, but this is not the first time I have wanted to with AlphaGraphics Layton. I don't understand how they have so many reviews with "great customer service", because that is the last thing I receive from them almost every single time.
I am a graphic designer, and send them a good amount of work to be printed. I have gone to them at least 15+ times because their print quality is nice, but I have had my last straw with their customer service, or lack thereof. Their staff is usually short with me, and make me feel like more of an annoyance than anything. 9 out of 10 times.
I sent them some invitations and prints via email in the early afternoon, and said I was hoping to pick them up by the end of day, or beginning of the next day. I received no email confirmation, and when I called at 4:30 to see if they were done, I was told that they hadn't even gotten to the emails yet because they were "so busy." I understand if they are too busy to print my order, but would have liked to know that with a quick email saying that it wouldn't be done in the time frame I was hoping, so that I could have gone somewhere else. It is now the weekend, and print shops are closed. I am also pretty shocked (but not surprised) at how rude their employee was when I asked if there was anything that could be done.
I also want to point out how much they charge to cut paper. I wanted some business-sized cards printed, and to print 50 was around $8, but to have them cut to size was an additional $20. I do not understand how you can charge that much to have a machine cut through a stack of paper. I have never been to a print shop whose prices even come close to that, and usually end up hand cutting my prints from AlphaGraphics.
I have really tried to give AlphaGraphics the benefit of the doubt more times than I should have, but leave disappointed and frustrated more often than not. I'm done sending them business and I am...
Read moreI used to go to Alpha Graphics in Logan and they were so much better. This one charged me a rush fee which I was fine with, but everyone else in my cohort printed posters in Logan without rush fees, and I turned ordered mine at the same time. I get that different locations have different needs, but I thought that was weird.
When I ordered my poster on Friday I was told that it would be hard to get my poster by Tuesday at 11:30am, and that a supervisor would need to confirm it on Monday before they started printing it. Over the course of the weekend I found a typo on my poster and asked if they could print a new version of my poster because they said they wouldn’t start until Monday morning. I called as soon as they opened and they said that they could print the updated version of the poster.
When I got the poster on Tuesday it was the wrong version, which made it impossible for me to change it in time for my exhibition the same day. I called them up and the guy didn’t believe me when I said that they had printed the wrong version. He didn’t offer me a refund, just a reprint, and only under the condition that I bring back the wrong one.
If I had known that they would take longer I could have gotten it printed in Logan like I used to for less money and in a shorter time frame, just like everyone else...
