Notice to All Harbor Freight Customers
I have been painting for over 40 years and have used all types of spray guns and sprayers. This is the first time I have used a HVLP sprayer, so I decided to purchase this sprayer because of the reviews and past products I have purchased from Harbor Freight. BIG MISTAKE!!!! 🤬
I had been using a cup sprayed that was working great, but my compressor could not keep up with me spraying so I had to change my approach. I spent several minutes learning the gun to insure an even fan. Once I figured the settings, I started to shoot the paint. Within in a couple of minutes I had the following issues...
The spray tip shot off three times on to the floor. The retaining ring would loosen up after adjusting the spray fan from vertical to horizontal as I changed it. The spray would not properly atomize to create a nice even spray which caused an orange peel affect. The air supply hose is so stiff and non-pliable which made it very difficult to get around the room and navigate The supply tub in the spray cup is too short which means that if you tipped the buy and the cup was less then 1/3 full the product would stop flowing. The spray tip and most of the components are plastic! I have a several other spray guns and all of them are either steel or brass.
Do to all these issues cleaned the product and packaged it for a return. I gave the box to the sales clerk and told them that the gun did not work and had issues he told me that there was a 20% RESTOCKING FEE!!! I told him that why am I being charged a restocking fee for a defective product? He said that is our policy.
See: attachments How crazy is this…Harbor Freight return policy is on the back of their receipt. Think about it you get their policy AFTER YOU HAVE PURCHASED the item? How does that make any sence?
I said that is insane, how do I know if the product is defective unless I open the box and use it? Besides that, if I knew the sprayer was defective, I would have never purchased it. He said do you want to exchange it or pay for the restocking fee? I said why would I want to keep a defective sprayer and why are you holding me hostage? He didn't reply and I told him to refund me and I will escalate this issue. The following day I called Harbor Freight customer support and told them what happened. She told me that is their policy. I said I have shopped at Harbor Freight for years and this is how you treat your customers? She said that is how it is. I told her I am never shopping at Harbor Freight again.
People, this is how Harbor Freight values you. Stop shopping there. Lowes, Home Depot and many other retailers offer better products and better customer service! FYI, I did not take pictures, prior to returning the unit since I didn't think that this was going to happen. You have been WARNED!!! Read moreWalking in harbour phrase morning around 10:30 a.m. we were expecting to get the customer service that we received last night November 7th when we bought the compressor that we bought. While this morning that was a totally Different story. When we 1st walked in we had the compressor that we bought last night plus the receipt in hand we then put the compressor in our shopping cart so we can do look at the bigger compressors so we could exchange it and spent more money with this company. When we walk through the front door nobody greeted us like they had the night before nobody asked us if We need any help or assistance, when I proceeded to ask a cashier employee female blonde hair for help she would not look at me she just kept stocking the shelf that she was stalking and ignored me I then asked her again if they had a compressor that we had seen on line she said no were out did not even turn to look at me so I proceeded to go back to look at the other compressors to see if they had some around the store. They did not. I then went over to my friend and told him about my experience with her and he said ok well if she is going to act like that we will go to a different one. Then when we left we took the compressor out of the shopping cart we had placed it in and the receipt for that item. When we got back into our car a loss prevention man came out and was taking down my license plate number. My friend opened his door and said excuse me can i help you, the man ignored my friend completely. My friend then got out of my car and said excuse me can i help you the man then turned around and with the most nasty tone said nope. And i then got out of my car and asked him multiple times why are you taking down my license plate i haven't done anything wrong. He just smirked at me and said ok turned his back to me and walked away into the store. So i called layton police to have them come out and make sure that i wasn't being wrongly accused by anyone. Read moreAlthough I enjoy the store for the quality and price, I do not feel like I'm a valued customer as my best interests are not in mind by the cashier.
When I'm buying a few front page deals(5+ items), I obviously want the coupon price as it's the reason I came in the first place. However after showing my coupons to the cashier and checking my receipt after getting home, I noticed that only one coupon out of the whole sale is applied. It was the top most coupon from my phone which is barely a savings compared to individual item sales.
Now I have to go back to this store to get this amended when it should either already be programmed in the POS system for these items during these dates, or employees should have a list of coupons close by to apply during these sales.
I personally felt quite two-timed as Harbor Freight should be looking out for their customers and have their best interests in mind. For those reading this review, be sure that you specifically show each and every coupon and double check the register before purchasing. Otherwise you will lose out on additional savings unless your cashier is aware of the sale and applying these coupons for you like they already...
