Very frustrated with the recent changes to Savers pricing structure, especially with books. It used to be that all kids books were either $1.29 or .99. Now, books are priced with all different prices, with some even being almost $5! With some of the books, there seemed to be no rhyme or reason why the price was so high. There were books that were damaged, ripped or written in for almost the same price that you could buy it brand new at a regular store!
Also, because of the new pricing structure, the āBuy 4 get one freeā deal, is not as convenient as it once was because you have to rummage through to find books that are priced the same to make it worth it. (I saw so many differently priced books .99, 1.29, 1.49, 1.99, 2.49, 2.99, 3.49, 3.99, 4.99 etc.) It totally took the fun out of the experience! Because of the many different prices, it makes it tedious to look through them instead of just buying a whole bunch of books because they are all priced the same. It was time consuming and frustrating. I used to spend hundreds of dollars at a time on books at Savers, but will no longer do that because of these changes. Im not even sure Iāll go back if it stays this way. I was super frustrated with my most recent experience there, and actually left a stack of about 50 books at the checkout because it was not in my budget to buy them. I put all of the ones priced over $1.49 back. Thatās a lot of books you could have sold that I walked away from.
I know a lot of teachers that used to purchase books for their classroom library at Savers, but you have now effectively priced teachers out of the ability to build their classroom libraries for a reasonable price. So sad.
I also thought it was ridiculous when I saw a Valentines vase exactly like one that I got last year at the DOLLAR STORE selling for $5.49!! What is Savers doing? Considering that all items are donated, I feel like the store is just being greedy and ridiculous. Itās my belief that people should actually SAVE money at Thrift Stores⦠especially at a place called SAVERS.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got to say I am very impressed with this store. Went in just to browse and ended up finding some sweet finds. First was a bag of Mega Blocks for my toddler, and next was a pair of jeans for myself. Iām always picky with pants because they need to have front pockets, no ādesignerā ripped holes, no jewels, sparkles, or gems, and no crazy back patterns. So I actually found a really nice pair. It looks like they were rarely worn because the bottom of the pant legs looked new. The brand was Aeropostale too! I even got to try them on just to be sure that they will fit instead of guessing.
They had a lot of unique stuff, and the toy section was very tidy. In fact the whole store had a great layout and tidiness. Was able to pinpoint sizes and womenās to men clothes.
I already want to return to find more clothes and toys. I also had a coupon from when I donated bags of clothes. So itās great way to go through my closet, and earn a bit of a discount to some ānewā finds!
Also I like buying the odd blankets for the pets! Itās seriously a neat way to recycle, and to find inexpensive items that need a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have shopped at this store since right after it opened.
The cashiers have always been kind. One recognized me whenever I shopped there, honestly asking how I was doing and would even ask about points of conversation we had talked about during a previous visit.
I only learned to stay away from one employee who would voice her dislike of things about her job or personal life. Something must have been said, because she stopped and just assists customers without voicing her personal issues.
I have enjoyed interaction with the manager. He has been kind to me.
But three times in a row, when I donated to the store, an employee was what I label authoritarian with me. Each time he found a reason to raise his voice at me. I complained to the manager after the second time. 2 February 2021 when I donated more items, the employee figured out I was the one who had complained and stated so to me in an increasingly raised voice. I got into my vehicle and without even putting on my seatbelt drove away to get away from him.
Sadly to say, I will neither be donating to or shopping at this...
