When I have a lot of time to sort through, I love the deals and brands at this place, and have bought almost everything, for my home and away, at the Layton location, for a minute now, Bar carts, patio furniture, clothing, jewelry, such as pearls, designer jackets, etc. As you will see, in almost all of the reviews, you have to be really, really careful, because the tags will say compare at a really high price, that is not real. I’m not sure this is legal. I Google everything before I buy. Also, as mentioned in reviews, the sales are color coated. On several occasions, I have had people, who are color blind, ask me what color the tag is, so they know what the deal is. The only nice employee, who almost makes up for all of them, is Dallin. He is the kind of employee all employers want. He is the kind of employee all customers want. I’ve read the reviews, how their employee’s are rude, but I like their items, so I shop and take the ugliness as par for the course. Today, the girl with the purple hair, ended NPS for me. It’s in no way all her fault, she’s just the employee who broke the camels back. She looked at my cart, pictured, and, very rudely, and loudly, told me I had to go to another line, her line was 15 items or less. I was next in line, and would have been quickly out of there.I left her line, as I’ve seen the venom these employees can spit, and I wasn’t in the mood, or a hurry. I counted my items, pictured, I had 16. I went to another line, waited for a couple people with a lot of items, let a lady with a few heavy items in front of me, and listened to the cashier, whose line I was in, being abrupt and rude to her customers. I then checked out, and headed out, looking back, a little heartbroken, knowing, I wouldn’t be back. Knowing I was saying goodbye to the friendships and laughter, of the shoppers, I would meet their often, although almost all of them have moved on, for the same reason. If you are knew to NPS and checking the reviews, save yourself from this. It will ruin every day you shop here. Go to Nordstrom rack for the clothes and accessories, and TJ Maxx for everything else. And if you find yourself here, and you happen to see Dallin, enjoy his smile and kindness, and let him know he is appreciated. He is the one good apple 🍎 in a bag full of rotten ones. And Dallin, if you happen to read this, from the bottom of my heart,...
Read moreHello everyone. I have shopped in NPS for more than 30 years. Mainly in the Salt Lake City store. i love shopping in the collectibles room… Because I love YSL and Gucci and Chanel handbags. But now they’ve opened a store in Layton near where I live so sometimes I go there just to see what they have- of course they don’t have those very high and items but that’s OK. But I am very disappointed. First of all, they closed the dressing room. And I understand it may be some things going on and it was necessary to have the dressing room closed. But you could at least put a couple of full length mirrors in the clothing department. I stopped By today and had 4-5 items in my cart but then I found out that there’s no return policy on clothing. How can a professional woman (or man) really shop at MPS Layton if you don’t have a mirror so we can see what the item looks like? I only go to meet him now if I’m just bored or something. Because this disservice to customers of not having a mirror it’s just too much for me to take. So I want to just if anybody’s interested in really nice clothing don’t go to the Layton store go to the Salt Lake City store where they have mirror so you can actually see how the outfit looks on you.
Snowstorm management in Salt Lake, and please please get some full length mirrors and put a couple in the clothing department. Type of business decision makes me think that you don’t care about the people in northern Utah like you do the people in Salt Lake City. that’s what I’m thinking… There’s definitely a discrepancy in who the people are in the two...
Read moreWATCH OUT FOR “as-is” ITEMS! Okay. So I shop here every couple of months and usually leave with something I really do like and is quite useful. I just found a welding torch I had been looking for online and it worked out great. This experience was new and I’m pretty frustrated with. I found a Weber kettle Bbq for sale there and I’ve had one in the past that was great. For 50 dollars I couldn’t pass it up even though the box was a little beat. I figured if it was dented up a lot or if anything was broken, I could return it like always or anywhere you shop. They have a 30 day return period if you keep you receipt. I always do, since you never know what could happen. I took this bbq home, opened up, and say that it was pretty beat up and it looked like it was a return that someone had halfway tried to assemble and broke. There were also a lot of parts missing. I tried to take it back, but the lady at the front said it was an “as-is” product and it couldn’t be returned. I was dumbfounded since I had never heard of that or seen a sign or spot in the store saying that. She then showed me on the price tag in little letters (10 point font, see pictures) where it says “as-is.” I was pretty irritated since no one at any point informed me if that and that it was in such small print. I feel like I was duped. I wouldn’t have take. That risk then and I’m glad it wasn’t a bigger item. I wish they’d advertise “as-is” items better or tell you at the register so others don’t fall into this false sense...
