Olive Garden (Layton, UT) - I was in high school when I first had Olive Garden, and for a LONG time, it was like the fanciest restaurant I had ever been to. Now its a go-to bc we know exactly what we want - endless zuppa toscana and endless breadsticks, chicken alfredo and spaghetti. Here’s your sign to get dessert first. You’ll never regret it! I tried the chicken and shrimp carbonara for the first time. It was bomb! We like this location because most of our experiences here have been good. Its never too crowded and never a wait when we choose to go. If our drinks are full, breadsticks are comin and the soups are flowin, we are 💯! Our server was great! The right amount of chatter and check ups. 📍675 Ring Rd Layton, UT 84041 #reliableplacestoeat #utaheats #localeats #laytoneats #tonganfoodie #foodietok #fatfoodie #polynesianfoodie

The first salad had six or seven chunks of bitter pale, center of head lettuce. The second salad had rotten lettuce portions. (See photo) The Eggplant Parmesan was a inexpensive choice for lunch. Sadly the marinara sauce was priceless.. like a can of plain tomatoes. By now I'm feeling a little sorry for my waitress. She said she would bring a dish of meat marinara sauce. By now the table kitty-corner is prompted to help and asks my waitress to bring the three cheese sauce. The last sauce saved the pasta. Once we got the marinara sauce right, the meal became appealing. Everything was great about the eggplant except the skin would not chew. I was surprised and at first was pulling them from my mouth. After a few times of that I cut the skins off. The restaurant was not busy during lunch. I spoke with the manager suggesting they give the choice of sauces upfront. He said they could have at lunch but at dinner they get too busy and that complicates the kitchen. I also asked him to take my plate of sample inedible lettuces to the show the kitchen. I was surprised when he offered nothing in return for my callenging experiences. They sell 'entrees to go' very inexpensively. I purchased a three cheese ziti. There was enough for 3 small meals. My waitress was good enough. When she was replacing my sauce she did not mention a third choice of sauces. I tipped 30% plus. But did not tip on the $6.00 carry-out. I left grateful for the other patrons who cared enough to see I got the cheese marinara sauce on my dish. I would have never taken anything 'to go' if not for them.

Olive Garden Drinks: Blue Hawaiian Strawberry margarita Food: The Asiago Tortelloni Alfredo with grilled chicken was delicious and they, surprisingly, gave a generous amount of chicken. The angel hair spaghetti was good but it’s also difficult to ruin something so simple. The cheese ravioli with meat sauce was also well made and the cheese was melted perfectly. No complains on quality or portion sizes. It WAS New Years so keeping that in mind, I can still say service was slow. When the salad DID arrive, the plates were warm—they normally chill them first. I think it’s safe to chalk it up to being a holiday. The main dishes showed up literally 45 seconds after the salad so we didn’t even get to have that first. I personally didn’t mind that but the rest of the group was annoyed because room was at a premium with double the dishes on the table. Our server was forgettable but not forgetful. He was where he should’ve been and when he should’ve been there. Nice guy who took great care of the littles in the group. Overall: It was a fairly typical experience for a typical chain restaurant. Nothing exciting and nothing terrible. The slow service was the worst part (can we still say “slow” when the food came out so quickly after the salad?). We’ll try this one again another time when it’s not a holiday and see if they’re capable of doing better next time. It was still worth the trip.

We haven't been for a long time because we had a poor experience but the other day wanted to try again. It was a Wednesday. We got there and were told the wait for two guests would be about 20 mins. We added my name to the list and sat down. As we waited we started noticing that people who arrived after us started to be seated and when it got to 50 mins waiting my husband went to the hostess to finally see why. She said, "oh we were wondering what happened to your reservation. It must have got lost. We will seat you next." Okay, so then more time goes by and we are finally being seated and the lady says, "it took a while to get a booth." My husband and I just looked at each other like, that's not what we were told a while ago. Our waitress was nice. She let us know that service might be slow because she just got sat two tables at the same time. We did appreciate the warning, but we were already kinda upset but we let it go. We had to ask for our bread sticks, we had to ask two different servers for our Alfredo sauce for the bread sticks and then got charged twice (it's the never ending boat,) and then I ordered my dish which included chicken in it and was charged for, and my dish came out with no chicken. It was just the cherry on top. We ended up getting a free dessert for our troubles but honestly we won't be back to this chain. I feel like our waitress would have been more attentive if she hadn't got double sat. It's not her fault, she was so nice and apologetic. Her managers should have handled that while...

My wife and I celebrated her birthday with lunch at the Olive Garden. For the both of us, it had been years since we ate at this restaurant. There are a few points that I have in why rated the experience as a moderate 3 stars. We immediately were seated apon entering the restaurant. The waitress that we were assigned was unreliable at best. ( we asked for water and a lemonade, and we never got the water. All the food was delivered by other waiters and waitresses. " At this time, there were only 4 tables in the restaurant." We asked another waiter if we may get some breadsticks. Our lemonades were refilled right before we left. Even at that, she refilled mine and not my wife's. The payment kiosk at the table was not working properly. After waiting for 10 minutes for our waitress to help us, we just asked another waitress if they could help. Once we got the to-go containers, we were headed for the exit when another waitress stopped and asked if we would like a sack to hold the containers so they won't leak. It seemed to us that we received more service from other wait staff that we did our own. The food tasted really good. Gone are the days when you could go to the Olive Garden for an inexpensive lunch. Granted, that's common everywhere anymore, so that's not a huge knock on this place. I do feel for two chicken alfredo dishes and two lemonades, $57 dollars is a bit steep. We don't mind returning again sometime, I just hope we get a...
