I love this salon, I've been getting my hair cut here for 5 years and have always come as a walk in. Today the only person available to cut my hair was their barber though, and I dont think he should be offered as an option for walk ins in womens hair. I said I wanted 2 inches cut off and he cut off closer to 5 and in general the cut isnt what I asked for AT ALL. He's a really sweet guy and offered to comp the entire cut when I told him it wasn't what I wanted, but I wish he or someone would have been more transparent that he isnt as good at womens cuts as anyone else. I had a bad feeling about it before the cut started when I found out he's the barber and that he primarily only does men's cuts now, but the lady at the desk that said he could take me assured me that he was "really good". Honestly, her going out of her way to tell me that should have been enough for me to realize he probably wasn't going to be able to give me what I asked for. I do recommend this salom still, Jordyn is great, Rema is great, really all of their stylists are - just be aware their barber should not be doing womens cuts in my opinion. I would have rather been told they didnt have availability for a walk in than what I left with. The first visit to Urban Gypsy was perfect and I loved my hair.  So I was very excited to go back. However, my return visit was quite the opposite.  I asked for balayage and showed a picture to Crystal of the color I wanted.  I should have known there was a problem when I got out of the bowl and my hair was a shade of pink and orange.  She reassured me that a toner would fix it. Sadly the hair on the top of my head is a brassy yellow and the rest of my hair is a couple different shades of blonde.  My scalp is on fire after the coloring and I lost a good portion of hair after she teased it so aggressively with the comb during the process.  When I called the salon the next day to discuss how badly my hair looked (as evidenced by my co-workers who all noticed) Crystal was defensive and not willing to give me any sort of refund for not giving me the service that I requested. She did offer to fix it, but I am not willing to go back there as I have lost confidence in her ability.  $350 down the drain, along...

I could not recommend them more!! I’d made the mistake of box dying my own hair— which did not turn out how I wanted. My regular salon didn’t have availability, but this needed to be fixed that day. After calling around to a few locations I found this one and luckily they had the perfect window of time to get me in last minute to fix my hair. They were the best!!! It’s been 3 weeks since I’ve been for my color correction but I get compliments on my hair color everywhere I go. They even sent me home with some shampoo and conditioner, a hair mask, and some shine serum- all of which have kept my hair so healthy and shiny (and they all smell amazing!) They went above and beyond for me and I have truly never felt this confident about myself after getting my hair done.
