We went to the Riverfront community center to utilize the swimming pool for winter break. When you walk into the facility the staff is very helpful and the prices are super affordable. For two kids and one adult it was $6.50. The building is well kept and super clean. They directed us strait to the pool which was helpful. Once in the pool area it was warm and clean but the woman’s locker room was closed. The men’s wasn’t of course so monitoring my young child wasn’t possible. After we swam we had to go into the cold hallway wet and into the restrooms to get changed. Wasn’t a fan of this option but it’s freezing out so we had to.
The problem with this place that myself and my friend with 3 boys had was how non child friendly they were. No floatation devices in a 4 foot to twelve foot pool , no throwing pool balls, no yelling….. um what do they expect kids to do in this town? The lifeguards let the kids play with the pool noodles and floaties from the wall which had no sign stating they couldn’t, then after a half hour came and scolded us for doing so and said there is normally a sign. She literally sat there for a half hour then got upset. Unfortunately we will be driving to Olathe from now on to swim this winter. Such a shame we have a facility here in town and only old quiet people...
Read moreMy daughter and son-in-law had their ceremony and their reception at the Riverfront Community Center at the end of June 2022. It is an absolutely perfect location for this. Huge room for eating and dancing. Bride and groom had separate areas to get ready. They were able to decorate the evening prior which was a great help. The staff had everything set up. The chairs for the ceremony, which was in a totally separate room, were all set up. The tables, chairs and bar were all set up. They were super friendly and accommodating. We needed another table for gifts and they got it without a problem. They did have one set up but we used it for gift bags for the guests. The caterer that the Community Center suggested/uses was phenomenal. The food, which they got to choose, was amazing. Half American, half Dominican and the caterer did an exceptional job preparing. Will definitely use the facility again when we have a big event. I strongly recommend and suggest you utilize the Riverfront Community Center. You will be glad you did. We certainly were!! Thank you Riverfront Community Center, we appreciate...
Read moreWe had our wedding at the Riverfront Community Center on October 30, 2021 and I’m so excited to post this review! Tammy was a joy to work with! She made this experience so easy and fun. The venue is an old train depot that has been converted into a community center. The main floor is the event space with three beautiful rooms as options. The venue looks out over a train track and the Kansas river. There is a walking trail a little bit down the street that takes you to awesome photo ops. As well as the event space being super beautiful and cost efficient, it comes with use of tables and chairs. There is also a team of guys who help set your event up exactly how you want it so all you have to do is show up and decorate! There are also a ton of add-on options such as lighted back drop, projector, lighted ceiling decorations and more! We would definitely use this space again for another event! It is a hidden gem and we loved...
