Ace Hardware — Local services in Lebanon

We placed an order for a lawn mower, some seeds, and other yard supplies. While it wasn’t the most affordable option, they assured us they could deliver and assemble the items. However, the delivery was scheduled for a Monday (which we were home for per their policy), but they never called or showed up. They also failed to inform us a day or so after what the plan was. When I called, they informed me that they were short-staffed and would get the order out "soon."

By the end of the week, we had received no communication from them. My wife called to inquire, and the manager responded in an incredibly rude and short manner. He stated that he "already talked to her husband and would try to deliver the order maybe Monday evening or Tuesday" (a week late from first given date). Given the lack of communication before, we had no way of knowing how long the delay would be and when we have to be home for them to deliver. Plus- we needed to mow our lawn!!!

After this experience, we have canceled the order and will never shop here again. I understand that they may be facing staffing shortages, but for a local franchise to neglect their customers who are trying to support them is unacceptable. A simply call to keep us informed versus us seeking store reps would have been helpful.

A few days before black friday, i went online to make a purchase, and it tells me theres an issue with the purchasing process and to call or email them. I emailed them and they told me to go to the store. When i visited, i first looked around a little, and no help was offered. I finally went to the front and asked who i should speak to about the online issue and was directed to the back. After heading to the back of the store, i was waiting behind one other person, while 3 employee's were talking amongst themselves about what they did the night before. After 3 or 4 mins i finally got someones attention amd explained the problem. She proceeded to look up the item online, and had the same issue. She asked me for my info and said they are getting a truck within the next day or two and would call me when it comes in. I told her the price online, and she assured me it would be that price, and even wrote it on the call back slip. I waited 2 days, till wednesday, at around 5 pm, and i called them. They told me it didnt come in on this truck, but assured me it would be in on friday. I called back on friday, after still not getting a call, and they told me the same thing, assuring me it would be available monday. By this point im wondering whg such a small hardware store would be getting 3 trucks a week, but i said ok, and with another assurance, they would call me then. If I could give them zero stars I would. I recently bought a Wayne Sump Pump Battery from this location. When I picked up the box was opened but was unsured by the employee he had checked it. I opened it today to find the battery inside which is picture. This battery is no way new. It looks like someone did a return and placed the old battery in the box. I called the store and spoke with an employee who said I would need to speak with the manager tomorrow. I will update this post with the results but since I didn't check it there I have a feeling I already know the answer. Just beware of buying stuff at this store and make sure you check the box yourself even if the employee said they did. Update they did replace the battery but I had to wait for them to get one in on Tuesday.
