I can't say enough good things about these wonderful people! I came in on a Friday looking for flowers for my grandma's funeral for the next day (Sat) I had been calling around to various shops but no one could do what I wanted. Peonies were out of season so I understood that so my chances of getting something close to what I wanted was getting slim. I walked in hoping to just get a few stems of something I could put together last minute (I assumed no one would have time to put an arrangement together for me at that point). I started talking to one of the girls who showed me everything in their refrigerator and started asking about my vision for my grandma's arrangement. I told her my grandma's favorite flowers and acknowledged that I know many of them aren't in season. Meanwhile one of the other ladies heard our conversation and mentioned that "we have some irises in the back that just came in". Y'all. My heart could have burst. Irises were one of my grandma's favorites so I told her those would be perfect. I asked about some other stems I could put with it and eventually in our conversation it ended up that they COULD in fact put an arrangement together for me. I told her I wasn't leaving until later that day so to take all the time she needed putting it together for me. She called me about 45 minutes later to say that it was ready. When I walked into the shop to get my flowers I literally cried when I saw them. They were so beautiful and exactly what I had in my mind. Then she made sure to put them in a box for their 2 hour car ride to Virginia to keep them safe and upright.
These ladies made the most beautiful arrangement and truly brought my vision to life all while being so kind and respectful of the fact that my grandma has recently passed. I will be using them for ALL my future flower purchases.
Sadly I did not get a picture of them but if I find anyone at the funeral who did I will...
Read moreWe ordered a bouquet of flowers from Towne Florist early this morning as a gift for a family member. We had to order them a day earlier than we wanted because they aren’t open on Saturday. When we ordered over the phone they said they didn’t have all of the flowers of the bouquet we wanted and we agreed on a few choices and expected them to accommodate the colors. We had a 2:30 pick up time. When we got there, they brought our flowers out and the whole bouquet was full of leaves. Just straight green! We had 4 roses and a few pink carnations. The white flowers were not in bloom as she wanted them to last longer. When we asked if we could add something as it was just a bouquet of leaves the lady in the back didn’t even help. We got some yellow flowers added and stood on as this other lady started shoving them into the already overflowing vase. While she did that, the lady in the back was talking about the wedding they had tomorrow and asked if we were their last pickup for the day. They cared more about the wedding than they did about us. The first version was completely overpriced for what we got and then they proceeded to charge us an extra $8 for the few yellow flowers they added. Not worth the price and they clearly didn’t want to help us fix it. We then took it to Harris Teeter and got it fixed where the lady told us our flowers would have died within a day because they didn’t place them in the vase correctly to allow them to get water. Just don’t go here. Harris Teeter did a better job than these people and cared a lot more about our happiness. Wish I could post the before and...
Read moreDO NOT ORDER FROM TOWNE Florist! Horrible customer service and value. This is my first negative review I have ever written.
As a Realtor I send anywhere from 8-15 arrangements a month. I’m very familiar with flower pricing and what quality is to be expected at a $100 price point. I sent my grandmother an arrangement that totaled $113 with delivery and taxes.
The owner let me know that there Telefloral recipe for the arrangement I choose was 5 roses, 6 carnations and 1 hydrangea. I called to politely discuss why a $100 arrangement would have such little flowers when on the website it looked more grand and never said the amount of flowers used. I naturally expected at that price point to be sending a gift I could be proud of.
She explained that the vase was $38 and roses are $5 a stem. I explained to the owner that there’s no way I would have paid $100 for that little bit of flowers.
I will attach a picture of the stunning centerpiece from a DC florist with orchids, glass votives and white roses that I paid the exact same amount for.
I’m a very reasonable person and I wanted to give the owner the opportunity to take responsibility for the misleading information on her website and make things right. However, she said that she doesn’t have anymore flowers at this point and it’s Telefloral’s fault because she followed there exact recipe.
I would never recommend Towne Florist, basic at best work that you will be charged a...
