TW/body shaming/ED I want to start this off by saying a couple of things. I was asked by the owner Amy to sign an agreement that I wouldn't leave a review in exchange for up to $300 in alterations reimbursement- I didn't accept this "arrangement" as she called it nor did I sign anything and this review won't even scratch the surface of what I was put through but brides be warned. This story is from June but I waited until they shipped my reception dress I got the same day I picked up my dress to make this. I was either measured incorrectly in December or it was written down incorrectly and this group of people made sure to not let me believe that was the case and told me in so many countless ways I had gotten bigger. When I went with the 12, I was under the impression I was half an inch away from the 12 and over 2 inches less than the 14. My sales associate told me I was so close to the 12 and I said I planned on losing a little bit of weight so I should go with the one I'm closest to and she agreed and that was that. If it weren't for this I would have had a great experience. I found my perfect dress and it was such a great day. Fast forward to June when it arrived, my dress didn't zip. Significantly, and I was only half an inch more than the size I went with in December (or so I thought). I've attached photos of my measurements from December for the gown to June for the second dress which is vulnerable but necessary along with the designers sizing chart. I understand mistakes rarely happen but it happened to me and after so many back and forths asking them to cover the cost of alterations I was told so many different things I just asked to speak with the owner and it was as bad as it could have been. She immediately was combative within 15 seconds when I asked her if she knew about my experience and told me she "knew all the facts and I was 3 inches bigger than I was in December". She said she never had to talk to brides because everyone has such a great experience and it's not possible they could make a mistake like this. She said she had only had to talk with maybe 10 brides. I spent weeks trying to eat as little as I could after she told me things like "brides size down all the time I can't give every bride something for free if they don't lost the weight", "you know your body, you know when you lose weight, and you know when you gain weight". I think it's important to add when I picked up my dress I was sobbing and asked an associate if I had to lose weight for it to fit she said "I wouldn't suggest it but it would definitely help". Back to owner she said "what do you want me to do" and I told her I think they should cover the alterations because this wasn't my fault and she said that wasn't going to happen. I said I will leave a review and everyone that was there will too since they admitted no fault and blamed me and treated me horribly once there was a problem with no solution. She said "EXCUSE ME ARE YOU THREATENING MY COMPANY" and got very angry. I told her it wasn't a threat, it was a bad experience on so many fronts. I offered to put my body on the line even after the terrible comments made, come back, and put the sample on in front of her and compare photos. She refused. If I had gained 3 inches around my waist I would not fit into any of my clothes. It took me a long time to come to terms with the fact that I was never the size around my waist they had written down and spent weeks going over this with my therapist, fiance, friends, and family. This place did an absolute number on me. I wouldn't wish the pain I went...
Read moreI had THE BEST experience at the adorable Bridal Boutique today!! My stylist was Angela, and when she brought me, my mom, and my MOH (twin sister) to our space, she immediately sat down, asked to see my ring, and just gushed! She asked all about my budget, venue, partner, likes and dislikes, asked for pictures, and then went right to work.
Before my appointment, I was so nervous, especially since this was my first dress try-on, but Angela made me feel at ease the whole time. She was knowledgeable, funny, down-to-earth, and an amazing hype woman! She ended up running to pull more dresses several times, and in the 90 mins I was actively trying on dresses, I tried on 15 gowns! I was nervous having her pull so many would be a burden, but she seemed just as excited as me.
What’s crazy about the gowns is I would have been happy getting married in any of them! The selection is absolutely killer, and Angela did a great job pulling dresses based on what I liked and didn’t like. My MOH even asked her to pull a “wild card,” and it was also gorgeous!!
I ended up between 2 dresses I loved, one of which I had bookmarked on their website months ago. We put them back on with veils and accessories, and I had a very difficult decision to make. Angela was very kind and courteous knowing I wouldn’t be walking out with a dress. The whole time she showed she was genuinely interested in my happiness and feeling confident and beautiful. It is extraordinarily clear she is exceptional at what she does.
I took Angela’s card and went to another appointment, only to come back a few hours later to place an order for my dress (which was the one I had flagged months ago—go me!) It did end up being a few hundred over my cited budget, but admittedly I gave a budget that was $500 less than I was actually willing to spend so it was perfect. I also purchased a gorgeous veil that Angela had suggested. The woman who helped me sign the paper work and gave me some swag was also very kind and did a great job explaining the details of the contract to me.
I just wish I had gotten to see Angela again when I came back to thank her, because she really made this experience better than I would have ever imagined. I felt relaxed, excited, and beautiful all day.
Now comes the worst part: waiting 11 months to walk down the aisle in my dress!! I will update my review next year when I’ve worn my dress. Thank you Angela and Bridal Boutique Lewisville!! You have my forever...
Read moreI came here recently with a friend, and compared to other stores in the area, this place was a let down. My friend did come with a wish list of dresses from their website, they had ~50% of them (which if you don't have them why are they on your website?). The interior is very nice, clean, and the front desk girl was very pleasant and we got free champagne.
I think a consultant can make or break an appointment and I don't think our consultant was a good fit for us. There was some sort of trunk sale going on and the stylist was coming soon, and I think they wanted to push this designer alot due to the fact that they were going to come to the store. The consultant proceeded to put my friend in almost exclusively this designers clothes even though my friend was clearly not feeling them. Our problem with this place versus others we had been to was that nearly every dress was identical, and while we were giving feedback, it was not being listened to. At times it felt like she was arguing with my friend and us. At one point my friend pointed out a specific feature of a dress that she didn't like (and she had to do so because the last three dresses all had it, because again - every one at this point had all been by this designer), and the consultant was like "every wedding dress in this style has that particular feature". This was our third store - no they don't. This designer likes that particular feature because it was all we saw the whole time. You could see by my friend face that she wasn't enjoying it and didn't feel beautiful in this person's stuff and the consultant should have taken note (if not from her face, then from us directly telling her) and switched gears.
Also this consultant had the gall to make a comment on part of my friend's body and tell her "you need to fix that before the wedding".
Finally, and this could be just because of that one designer, the dresses here looked less high quality and a little cheap when compared to some in other stores - but they were running like 2000$ more. I just think there are better options in the area with more pleasant people who worked harder for the money we were going to be...
