I have never liked to criticize a place that feels unethical to me. However, I can simply described this place with one word: horrible. The day I went to visit for the first time I had to wait for 8 arepas for more than an hour and a half. At first I let it go and I understood that there were other orders ahead of mine but after 45 minutes I got impatient and decided to ask kindly how much longer I would have to wait, the waitress at that moment looked at me with a derogatory look and with a voice of fatigue and irritation said "It won't take long." With this answer I went back to my seat and proceeded to wait looking at how other people who had arrived after me received their orders. More than half an hour later I finally received my order (which was to go.) When I arrived at my house I opened the bag hoping that the waiting time, the cost, and the bad treatment would have been worth it and it definitely wasn't. There were several things with the food but the most notable was that the meat was raw, it had fat, and it was dry. Overall, all my experience in this place was disgusting and I will definitely never go there ever again, so if you plan to go, I recommend you look for...
Read moreI happened to find this gem while at a near by clinic, knowing lunch time was around the corner, and I’m so glad I tried it out! In the land of TexMex, this place is so refreshing! I want to say that it’s Venezuelan, but the restaurant itself says it serves “Latin Food.” It definitely doesn’t taste like TexMex- which I’m so thankful for. I tried the Pabellon which is an arepe stuffed with shredded beef, black beans and plantains, covered with very freshly grated cheese (I think queso fresco), and a side of their house made sauce- it was delicious! The arepe itself was really good too- not hard or too thick/thin.
I’m going to come back to try their other popular arepe which is an avocado chicken. I also sampled their passion fruit juice made from scratch- and it was SO GOOD, but being pregnant and possibly diabetic, I just enjoyed the sample.
Overall, I enjoyed the taste and freshness of the meal, the cleanliness of the place for quick bites, and the owner was just the sweetest who was super friendly and helped explain all the dishes to me with recommendations....
Read moreJust experienced this small but flavorful restaurant in Lewisville. We had ordered Arepas, Beef soup , fried plantain, a combo platter of chorizo, sausage, rice, beans .. finally my son always wants a Mexican coke and flan when we are at a Latino restaurant. All the food was flavorful and heartful. It seemed like home cooked and the service was very friendly. Surely in the list of return for sure.. the Flan was fresh, soft and had the right amount of caramelized sugar with that little tinge of bitter. The beef soup was hearty with a lot of veggies and big chunks of meat. The arepa tasted similar to a breakfast dish we make back at home with rice...
