The food quality is typically very good, but there are some negatives at this eatery that bears watching. Today, my family was initially seated in the back room. Beware of being seated in the back room. The room's sound acoustics are terrible. The noise level in that room is more than twice as loud as in the main seating area, and it is extremely difficult to have a conversation at your own table. My daughter asked the staff for us to be moved. She was refused. We were all unhappy with being in the room, so I asked for the manager in-staff. He spoke to me, said they've had many complaints about the deafening background sound in this room, and that the owner's had "so far" done nothing to alleviate the problem. Any decent sound consultant could recommend a set of solutions that would fix that. The owners should seriously fix it.
Anyway, it took me saying that we were so unhappy with the noise level in the back room that we were willing to leave the restaurant before he relented and agreed to move us. It took 15 minutes, but we were finally moved. Before that move, however, I had asked for a substitution on my meal, which was a huevos racheros type dish, by substituting the fried corn tortillas that normally come with the meal with their gouda grits, instead. I simply wanted the grits on the plate first, spread out in place of the two tortillas, and then prepared exactly the same way as it was originally planned. The staff refused, and I was told by the manager-in-staff that they have no mechanism to do that, but they would gladly serve the grits on the side and leave off the tortillas. Huh? I mean, you simply ladle the grits onto the plate instead of into a bowl, then add the other ingredients on top the exact same way as if they were tortillas, instead. It was at this point that it started to feel like we were being f*#ked with for complaining and putting them to the trouble of moving us. I asked him "how difficult could it possibly be to take a plate, put some grits on it, then pretend the grits are two corn tortillas and prepare it exactly as they normally would?" He couldn't explain why they couldn't do that and continued to refuse to accommodate my request.
After that, my wife's order was incorrect, and the young waitress (who, herself, was fine) apologized and said it was so loud in the other room that she didn't hear the order and wrote what she thought she heard. So, while the rest of us had our meals served, my wife had to sit and wait while we ate our meals before the meals cooled.
Food-wise, Seven Mile's servings are typically very good, as we've been served many times in Highland Village with nary a problem and always delicious results, so in comparison to those experiences, this one, today at their Lewisville location, was a huge letdown and made for a far less than enjoyable experience, although the food served was fine. No complaints. Hoping the owners heed the complaints from customers about the extremely loud ambient noise levels in the back room, for the sake of the customer experience, and addresses this problem. Also, I hope they'll discuss with their staff the importance of trying to offer all customers the consideration of a small and insignificant accommodation, especially when it's for a request as simple as was made of them, today.
*Oh, and to the owner monitoring these reviews. In advance of receiving a trite response like you've provided to other customers who took the time to share their complaints in their reviews, such as "We are sorry that you are disappointed but appreciate your feedback. We are committed to providing you with a great experience and hope you give us another chance in the future." Don't. That's whitewashing and doesn't address the situation. Trite answers only make you come across as trite and not genuinely concerned about improving your business or winning customers over to give you another chance. Work on your responses as well as improving...
Read moreVery Very Bad experience today at this restaurant.
What we Ordered vs What we got. Chicken Club Tacos : The flour Tacos are cold they waited I guess to bring the other dish and food was cold with Flour Tacos are not soft it was like papad/chips almost. I had to eat them as I am hungry.
Loaded Potato with Grilled Chicken well done with no other meats specified twice, scrambled eggs well done : Received chicken with apple sausage with it after 1 hour of ordering. My wife ate the Bananza pancake and finished her Fresh squeezed orange juice as it is too late already. Ate dessert before lunch. The waiter replaced it and now it came with eggs not well done so had to leave it a side. There are other customers I see waiting as well for food. I finished my lunch and still waiting on my wife’s food to show up.
Seven Mile Latte with extra extra hot was specified: Latte is good but was not extra hot at all.
I was waiting for my check as my wife is pregnant and hungry so had to take her somewhere else as food is not great and we got the dishes not we ordered and they are very late. Almost spent 2 hrs at this restaurant which is not very busy and I also checked at front desk if they are short staffed today but the lady at front desk mentioned they are not short staffed and I can see atleast 10 people working today.
Walked out to pay the bill as we waited for 10 minutes still didn’t get the check. My name is Krishna and if the owner of the restaurant sees this review please give me a call back I can explain more in detail if needed. I would recommend going to your Denton location which is much better and had great customer service with fresh food even during busy times.
Spent 71.22$ at this restaurant for 2 people and now had to spend additional 30$ to order food at other restaurant for our lunch. Never going back again at this location.
At this point the front desk staff was friendly and checked with me before leaving what’s wrong but it was too late as I ordered food from other restaurant to pick up...
Read moreSo had an interesting experience with them this morning. We went in for breakfast. We usually hit Seven Mile either Saturday of Sunday virtually every week and our bill is usually over $100. There are 5 of us. We’ve been doing this for over a decade at this point. Started at HV location and have migrated to Lewisville. So I bet I’ve handed them $60+K in that time with tips. Today the staff told us we couldn’t have outside food or drink. My wife and I had our coffee still as it hadn’t been consumed (the stuff in my morning coffee I can’t get from them, but mostly it’s nutrition supplements). We bring in cups a lot, not every time we are in but most we would. Today was the first time this was mentioned. I spoke to the manager and was told they have a sign posted. Now this really isn’t on them and they were friendly enough. But the policy has some issues. Do they know we purchase drinks every week? I still would have had a $5 Iced NOLA with oat milk, but they wanted us to take the cups to the car. I’m not coming back in if I have to leave to take my cup back outside. In fact I’m likely never coming back. It’s unfortunate. What does it cost to replace a client? Who knows, but they would not have lost any revenue this morning by allowing us to bring out drinks in. They did lose at least $100 and server lost $20 because they wouldn’t. Maybe they are busy enough that this doesn’t matter to them. Generally the food is really good and the service is good or adequate. Otherwise we wouldn’t have been going there for 10+ yrs. Policy is policy and they have the right to implement any policy they want. Maybe they should enforce it consistently or maybe have a conversation with the clients. For all the know based on the interaction today was they I had a cup and was going to add my coffee from them to my cup? I see outside cups inside regularly from others. So I know it’s not just us. Anyway they need to re-evaluate the enforcement of the policy. I’ll guess I’ll be taking my next $60K...
