On January 13, 2025 I took six watches to Jared for battery replacement and repair (if needed). These watches represent the bulk of a small, but very sentimental watch collection I have built over the past 30 odd years including a Tag Heuer Formula 1, a 1905 Elgin Vortic, two Nicky Hayden Tissots, a square faced Tissot, and an Invicta Zeus Bolt. The associate explained that the battery replacement, inspection, and seal testing cost around $85 per watch and would take about 6 to 8 weeks to complete. The Elgin was sent out for a repair to the seconds hand which had fallen loose off its post. The Tag was thought to need a new crystal and would also need an estimate for repair. The watches were photographed and inventoried and we paid $342.07 with the repair estimates on the Elgin and Tag outstanding and left.
A month later on February 13 we received a call that the Tag crystal could not be replaced but had a new battery and was ready for pick up along with the two Hayden Tissots and the Elgin which could not be repaired. We picked up the four watches paying $85.52 for the battery only on the Tag and inquired about the other watches. We were told they were still out waiting on parts.
In late February we got a call from Dwight who told us he needed our approval for a bracelet repair on the Invicta Zeus Bolt, which was broken. He stated the repairs would be $500.00. This was disconcerting due to the fact that the watch is kept in its original Pelican brand case and I had only worn the watch twice. Also, when we took the watch in it was photographed and in mint condition. I told Dwight I would not authorize the repair because there was nothing wrong with it when we dropped it off and I wanted the watch back with only the battery replaced. Dwight said he was not saying anything was wrong with the watch, although he had just told us it would be $500.00 to fix the bracelet. I also told him that if anything was wrong with the watch it happened after we dropped it off and therefore they would be responsible. I also inquired about the square face Tissot, which was still waiting on parts at the 6-week mark.
In mid March we called to check the status on the remaining watches since it had been over 8 weeks since we dropped them off. On March 18 we got a message that the square face Tissot and Invicta were still waiting on parts.
On April 9 we got a call saying the Invicta was ready for pickup, and picked it up after returning from a trip two days later. The Invicta had a new bracelet with no explanation as what had happened to it other than they had to send it back because the original one was in pieces. We were not charged for the new bracelet. The manager told us the Tissot square face was still waiting on parts. We told the manager we wanted a refund on the square faced Tissot and we wanted the watch back.
On April 28 (13 and a half weeks after drop off) we got a call that the square faced Tissot was in and ready for pickup. We immediately went and picked up the watch and were refunded $85.00 since no work was done to that watch. I do not recommend Jared for watch repair or battery replacement. I told the manager they lost me as a customer and in my opinion they should look for another vendor to do...

The same wonderful highly experienced gem specialist are still there. TOM: What a true blue he is. I've been knowing Tom since 1999, one year after her started his career with Jared's. Tom...well is Tom, never fails to make you feel less than, rather always puts a smile on our faces, accompanied with a laugh or two. His elephant memory is magically mind blowing. His knowledge in this industry well exceeds anyone I've ever encountered. Tom collaborated with me in designing a unique custom wedding ring, which was a huge challenge, I wanted a very specific look. Tom made happen when three other custom jeweler's said it wasn't possible. 😬. Lastly, Tom makes us feel like we're comfortably at home simply surrounded by good people. That's something special that has clearly been lost in the overall retail world. WENDY: What a warrior this lady is!! She's nothing short of an inspirational, caring, special woman put on this earth for a purpose. Her Jared's retail approach exudes straight to your soul. When she approaches you, she not only "listens" she "receives" what it is your looking for, she doesn't just randomly start showing you cases of treasures you have no interest in, just to try and make a sale. Her ability to develop client relationships without even trying speaks volumes. Between her, Tom (and Tatiana) this Lewisville location is golden.. One can only hope CORPORATE JARED'S recognizes how invaluable these three are to this store.
TITIANA: Store manager, although we haven't had many direct interactions with her, when she sees us she's smiles that million dollar smile and greets us with a sincere warm hello as tho she's known us forever. Watching her assist her store team and clients it's clear why she is manager. She's present and hands on, for upper mgmt, that's rare.
Side note: I've been at this store many times, while "waiting" for our rings to get their bi-yearly inspection, and have witnessed client after client walk in specifically asking for Tom and/or Wendy. "But for" these two, I would think the stores numbers would be gravely different.
In closing, it's so refreshing to know there's still REAL humans in this crazy retail world that we can comfortably put our trust in and walk out feeling like we mattered.
Thank you to the Lewisville JARED's TEAM.. YOU ROCK IT EVERY TIME!!
Corporate Jared's...... Takes note and reward this amazing team you have here.... I've been to other of your locations, and although they too were "nice" there is zero comparison to your Lewisville store. (just...
Read moreWe are happy and blessed customers of Jared's Lewisville. My husband proposed in December 2022 with a beautiful custom piece we both designed at Jared's that had some qualities of an "in case" design but other special touches for us and that made more sense for me personally. I get the most compliments on my ring it "blings" a ton and it's my favorite piece of jewelry (as it should be right ;)). I wanted to stop by and give a review because I am not sure if we ever have. Wendy is phenomenal and we specifically look forward to seeing her when we go in so we will make sure to go on days she is there. She is a true gem and cares so much about her customers. She is honest, helpful, friendly, personable, and is always willing to listen to our concerns and help where she can. She has a great heart and truly understands customer service. I am not sure why she is not the store manager at this point but she should be. Other people could learn a lot from her. She is amazing and I even picked up a Christmas present for myself from the clearance area along with some St Jude stuffed animals for charity while we were there. My new "clearance" piece is beautiful as well and I can't wait to wear it. We originally went to a different Jared's location in August 2022 but their follow up was very bad and we almost walked away but when we met Wendy we knew giving Jared's a second chance would be worth it. We've never regretted that.
As a side note the customer service center 800 number for synchrony bank that we have to use is not great at all and they messed us over on some interest deal even though we had paid the item off and the 2nd item my wedding band should have started the clock over. We got ripped off on that deal by $500 which we were told we "will not get back" with no even consideration of the situation. All of the original engagement ring balance was paid early but when the second item was added it messed up our no interest for a year deal. It shouldnt have but it did. Anyhow...not Wendy's fault....just thought I would make...
