My family drove from Paris,Tx to eat at one of our favorite places, Red Lobster of course! When we arrived at 4:45pm there was a party of 4 in front of us who the hostess sat. We assumed she would be returning to seat us however that was not the case we waited another 7 minutes before we were sat, my kids were not given crayons to color their menus and it was another 5 minutes before our server greeted us. When he did he took our drink order and returned and began our order. We waited 20 minutes before asking about the biscuits at which time our server told us they were making a fresh batch. The tea and strawberry lemonade tasted like water and was disgusting. After 30 minutes we finally had biscuits which we scarfed down due to being hungry. Another 30-45 minutes went by and We noticed our food was taking a long time and requested to speak with a manager due to lack of communication with our server. She came out and stated they were short staff and that she would go check in the order and as a result of the inconvenience offered dessert on the house. She returns 10 minutes later with our food which was completely wrong (mind you we are a family of 5 with the youngest being a 3 year old). We immediately tell her the order is incorrect and she scrambles to get the missing items. We began eating and quickly noticed the food was horrible at which time we decided we didn’t want to order anything else and declined the dessert. We never recieved refills on any of the 5 drinks we asked the server didn’t even bother to ask at this point we were furious, and asked for the check. The manager returns and asked how was the food we replied Terible and that we were ready to go she stated the entire bill was on the house and she hopes we have a good night. As we leave we noticed that the front seating area was entirely full and immediately wonder why were were sat in the back with another black couple. After waiting over and hour for our food after we had ordered, this establishment was a joke and the customer service was horrible. We sat and observed several servers passing us numerous times and no one bothered to ask if we needed anything while our 2 year old was crying complaining his stomach was hurting because he was so hungry. We walk in (party of 5) on a Friday evening around 6:15 p.m. and the host, who was likely on their first day of the job, seats us. The host didn't do anything wrong mind you, but it is relevant to the experience as it seems they had maybe double or triple sat her section recently, just a guess. On our way to our table the waitress handling the section actually dressed down the host in front of us for seating us in her section, I mean stopped our progress so she could berate the host for seating us in her section. We continue to go to the table after this awkward exchange where we tell the waitress and the host that we don't mind sitting somewhere else, but I guess the waitress felt a bit guilty maybe as she insisted we stay so we sit down at the table where the waitress begrudgingly serves us the remainder of the evening. My wife took my son to the restroom shortly after we were seated and overheard our waitress griping to another server about the fact we were seated in her section. I mean this lady was just flat out grumpy. The food took almost two hours to come out, drinks from the bar came out with the ice pretty much melted into the drinks by the time we got them. I really don't know if any of this was the bartender or kitchens actual fault or just a very grumpy waitress. Before you start thinking we stiffed our waitress we actually didn't, even though she really did deserve it. Regardless, this was a very rough experience. I used to be a waiter myself so I know how hard the work is, but what this waitress did and how she behaved was simply unacceptable, and I would never have behaved like that in my table waiting days. We have all been double and triple sat before when waiting tables, it sucks but its a part of it sometimes, especially if you have a brand new host seating people that looks like their about to faint or have a panic attack because they dont actually know what they are doing. Read moreWas ordering take out on Tuesday 8/2/22 called directly to the Lewisville Tx location at 743pm on a night they were supposed to close at 9pm so I knew we had to order before 830pm cuz the cut off time for take out, having had that experience in the past. So I made sure I called at 743pm because it was our Anniversary and we wanted to make sure we got a special meal for our 33rd Anniversary and we haven't eat in since b4 the Pandemic due to my health issues. So I made sure I called early enough. When I called the togo line and explained I wanted to order a special order for our Anniversary & the young lady said one moment please. And someone by the name of John said "were closing early due to not enough staff working" but I explained I just wanted to order a togo order for our special Anniversary how many staff does ot take to do a togo order? And John said "Sorry were closing early". Then I asked to speak to the manager and John said he WAS the manager and said "sorry were closing early". We always order from this Red Lobster togo since the Pandemic and I've even changed our ordering habits since we've been told all ordering cut off is 1/2 hour before closing time. And now to get this from A MANAGER! John needs new training. We could have been there by 815pm to pick it up. Cuz it doesn't take that many staff to do a togo order. This leaves a bad feeling of ever wanting to order from this Red Lobster again. I know I've dealt with Becki Sauls the Manager before hence the reason why we changed our ordering habits. But even then Becki was nice enough to take my order cuz we didn't know the new cut off rule. But what John did was not acceptable.
