In the five years that we have frequented Michelson's Shoes, I would usually give a 5 star rating however, after today, I unfortunately would give it one star and will probably not return.
Although the store was busy when we entered there were at least 2-3 sales people standing around. Firstly I had to ask for help (usually a sales person would greet us and offer help) and secondly when I asked for a second sales person to help (we were looking for 2 pairs of shoes for two people), they said that they couldn't as more customers may potentially come into the store. I found this strange and spoke to the owner who with no real apology said that was what he had instructed his staff to do, which made matters worse.
This situation could have been easily solved by either saying I'll help but if we get busy do you mind if my colleague helps you, or by saying something as simple as let me get the shoes and then my colleague can fit your child.
As a store with usually high quality service, I was very disappointed today with how I was treated and will probably not return especially since we had driven 40 minutes...
Read moreI love this shop! I really appreciated their top-notch customer service. John was very attentive when helping me. He assisted me putting the shoes on when I tried them, and I wish he could help me every day! I have severe neuropathic chronic pain, and he eased my shoes on without causing any pain. I can't even do that for myself! Their selection is excellent; be prepared to pay for the quality. The shop is loaded with great stuff. I would have browsed more but it's a lot in a small space, and there were quite a lot of shoppers and kids when I went. I will definitely come back. I have difficulty finding shoes that are truly comfortable, considering my condition (it's similar to fibromyalgia, for reference). There seemed to be several options I could try, and I'd definitely like to come back when the store isn't so busy so I don't get overwhelmed by the noise (and worried that I'll get bumped, which is very painful). Overall, a...
Read moreI’ve been in and out within 10 minutes whenever I’ve come here to buy my kids shoes because the service is so great. Today I brought my 18 month old in for his second pair of shoes and the salesman sized him then checked out his current pair and said they were still fitting fine and wouldn’t need to size up for another couple months. He showed us some tips for slipping his foot in more easily when he’s wearing toddler grippy socks. He sized my 8 year old for her back to school shoes and had her do a thorough walk around the store to make sure they were a good fit. Everyone in the store is so friendly to children and parents which makes it such an easy and literally breezy quick experience for shoe shopping. Definitely worth the drive if you’re not local to Lexington and well worth the $.25 parking in the lot...
