I signed my son and myself up for an XSport membership 10/5/19. I was a bit taken aback by the down payment due for both my son and I (totaling over $430.00), they allowed me to pay half at the time of signing up and the other half was to be taken out at a later date. While this was more than I thought I was going to need to spend, I signed up because the gym is close to my home and I needed to get back to working out. I was offered the one free personal training session which was great. After the personal training session I indicated that the cost was more than I was able to spend at this time. Again they pushed and said that I could make a down payment of $300.00 and have the remainder broken up into bi-weekly payments (total cost $630.00 + for 12 sessions). I am a novice when it comes to working out and knowing what I have to do to achieve the results I am looking for so I decided to give it a shot since I was supposed to receive the support I needed to be successful in my workout journey. Upon signing up for my once a week sessions I was supposed to have personalized workouts and nutritional information provided through an app that they have you download. 5 weeks into the personal training I had yet to receive any of those services other than the once a week visit with my trainer. I called corporate, was on hold for over 35 minutes, I wanted them to know that in 42 days I have already paid XSport $911.70 (down payment to start memberships, down payment for personal trainer and first installment, two monthly dues for my son and I, and two annual dues) and that the personal training program was not providing the services they claimed. I spoke to Candice and I indicated to her that I wanted to cancel the personal trainer contract due to not being provided the services stated upon signing up. Candice was ridiculously rude and also told me that I only had three days to cancel the personal training contract. I let her know that I was not receiving the services contracted, she said there was nothing they can do about it. I told her that I didn't understand how they can hold me to a contract when they are not holding up to their end and that I will have to be transferred to someone who can help me cancel the memberships, to which she responded "go ahead and cancel, you are still going to pay for the personal training sessions." Needless to say while most of the staff at the gym (and my personal trainer) are nice people, the customer service, fees and promises made and not kept are less...
Read moreCustomer service was horrible. My sister and I went to renew our memberships yesterday (10/19/15). The young lady behind the counter did not greet us at all. She simply stared at us, as if to ask what did we want. I said, " 'Hey, how you doing?", she said nothing. We would like to renew our memberships' ". The young lady look to her left and looked to her right, as another employee walks up, she says w/o even looking at us, "Oh, just have a seat over there (points to her right) and somebody should be over to speak with y'all in a minute". #Rude&Unprofessional. We go to have a seat and wait on someone to come speak. After waiting for about 23mins and NO ONE coming to ask if we were being helped, my sister grows frustrated and goes back to the front counter and ask how long will it be before someone comes to speak with us. The young lady replied, "Oh, I forgot. My bad. Umm can someone come and talk to them. I think they wanna renew a membership or something...". A young man name Alvin and another guy with a ponytail, apologizes for the wait and made it very clear they weren't aware we were waiting for anyone. I'm not sure how she "forgot" when we were sitting literally 5 steps away from the desk. Maybe if she weren't smiling in some many guys faces as they entered the gym, she probably could've remembered or if she weren't trying to be so lowkey on her phone, but that's neither here nor there. Alvin was helpful, as well as the other gentleman. They even made sure we had locks to lock away our belongings. This gym location is small compared to others and most of their staff was not very attentive. The restroom toilets had urine on them and the staff member in the restroom was more into ducking around corners to text, rather than mopping of puddles of water on the locker room floor and cleaning the restroom. The 2 stars are for Alvin and the gentleman with the ponytail. Xsports should consider getting some personal shoppers to go and act like they're interested in getting a membership or just ppl to randomly go in during different shifts to see how's this location is being ran. Customer service is key in any business. The first impression was definitely a lasting impression for me, literally. That was first and last time I will be visiting this specific location. Maybe they should consider mixing it up and putting some older (30+) employees in there as well. You know, ppl who are more knowledgeable and take their jobs seriously. Too many young ppl and I'm...
