Hoa My Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in Leyden Township

The lady that runs it is nice until you have a issue to be looked at. Order the orange chicken dinner that came w fried rice and a egg roll costing 9.15. Also asked what drink not telling you the price. Glad I asked before opening the pop. When bill came the items order were just swiggly lines and no price. Just a number at the bottom.

I inquired about it and she said that is the total. Knowing what I order rounding up including tax knew she was trying to be slick. Stated I order the dinner only costing four dollars more. WHY would I PAY more for less food?? She stated I ate it all. What does that have to with the cost?

I asked her on the side and she went all old school Chinese on the inquiry. Screaming loud and cussing making a scene for the other dinners...even opening the kitchen door bringing them into the mix. Not doing it in a respectful manner I told her I would not be coming back. And I traveled back to the area to give them a try since they do not deliver. Sorry I did that.

I was initially made aware of this location while picking up pizza next door and was immediately drawn by the alluring aroma of Chinese food wafting out from within the restaurant. So, I had to go in and grab a menu and have a look-see as to what they offer. Told my folks about it, gave them the menu I grabbed on my way out, and said to give Hoa My a try next time they were up for some authentic Chinese food and have them pick something up for me when they did. They stopped by very recently for takeout and picked up a Mongolian Beef dinner special for me, and my goodness, it was so good. I ate it after a particularly arduous workout and was grateful for the delicious calories and protein provided in this meal. From the perfectly cooked, savory velveted beef to the crunchy eggroll and the well-seasoned fried rice, it was a fantastic, well-rounded meal. Absolutely amazing every single time. A small local business that really cares when it comes to every order. Have lived in the area for a few years and this is my go to Chinese spot. Have eaten here atleast 15 times and have never had one issue. Have tried a range of items and everything from lunch special to dinner is great. I would highly recommend their made from scratch potstickers.

If you read any of the very few bad reviews you quickly realize that these people had no idea what they were talking about. You look at their other Yelp reviews and all they leave is bad reviews. Funny and pathetic. This is a great small business that serves the local community with pride. If you want good food I say go there. But people complaining in the reviews about No English?
