We chose this restaurant to celebrate our son’s first birthday. Pros: It is a new restaurant with nice decor elements and designs. Pretty plates and silverware. Cons: Staff is unprofessional, misleading, and are not ready to prepare banquet celebrations yet. When we made an order, the owner told us that there will be one other birthday besides us. When we arrived, there were two other birthdays, therefore there was not enough space. Chairs are very heavy and it was hard to get up from our place. Our guests could not fit comfortably. We asked for 2 baby chairs which did not fit at all. When ordering food, we have been informed that sizes are large and that what we have ordered was a lot. In fact, portions were small, waitresses were going to each guest and proposing only 1 piece of food because there wasnt enough for everyone. It just seamed funny and cheap. Considering the food, I could only say that pierogies are good and tasty. Fish platter and meat platter are dry. There isnt a lot of choice for salads. They did not take well care of birthday cake. We had a woman that prepared our cake give instruction but they just left the cake on the table for the whole evening and it almost fell apart. Kids have been asking for fruit a couple times but they did not bring it to their table so we gave them ours although they have been preordered. Hot food was brought very late and all at once rather than spread out so people dont eat cold food. They were forgetting about ordered bread and ordered coke. When coffee was brought, some guests asked for milk but were informed that there is no more milk. When coming with a problem or concern to a waitress all they said is “oh we know of that problem but its ok” Because of such tight space and owner trying to fit 3 birthday parties, poor performer had to stand in the corner and there was no dance floor. We had a two layer cake with two different tastes. They did not pack us one layer of the cake to take home. At the end of the holiday, the owner told us to get out at 11pm, although she told us that we can stay until 12am when preordering. Also, when servers were serving food, some sauce, oil or fat would spill on guests and glasses but they didnt do anything about it. This is my experience with this restaurant. It is beautiful, although it still has a lot of...
Read moreI strongly DON’T RECOMMEND a restaurant for your celebration. I reserved a table for 20 people over the phone for my birthday. My only request was that it was one table. Maryana (I'm not sure who she is at the restaurant) promised me that. So I was sure that everything would be great. When I came to the restaurant to leave a deposit and discuss the menu and table decor, the situation was changed. Firstly, neither the manager nor the owner was willing to discuss the details. Probably, it is the waiters who accept and decide everything in the restaurant.. As a result, this waiter said that they can offer me ONLY two separate tables for that date, since they already have two reservations. So my reservation is not important or what? Does the restaurant just want to earn more and everything is equal to the comfort of clients?? Come on?!?! I made a reservation by phone and the only thing I asked for was one table, not two separate ones. AND I WAS PROMISED THIS. No one apologized or called back to somehow resolve the situation. I am sure that with such an approach to work, this restaurant will not work long. The worst thing was that I had already invited my guests to this restaurant and I needed to change everything. I also ordered table decorations, which I ended up not using. Owners must have forgotten that this is not Ukraine and business should be conducted with respect for the client who is ready to pay money!! Customer orientation is at the lowest level. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone, and even more so I will not go...
Read moreFor a restaurant to be truly great, it must have great food, ambiance, and service. Velour has all of that and much, much more. First, there is the beautiful decor, from the light fixtures to silverware to color scheme and plush chairs. The comprehensive menu takes traditional Ukrainian food and puts a global modern gourmet spin on every dish that is wonderful in both presentation and taste. The desserts are colorful works of art that are also lite and scrumptious, and one should not pass on lavender lattes or on other outstanding and innovative cocktails and beverages. Additionally, the live music on Saturday nights definitely adds to the festive atmosphere be it a date or a larger birthday or holiday celebration. But the best part about Velour are their staff, especially the waiters/bartenders who are knowledgeable about the menu and simply perfect in their quality of the service. Their smiles, their efficiency, and their attention to every detail are a genuine, rare pleasure that myself and my friends have now experienced several times at this gem of a restaurant that I would recommend 1000 percent, and that am looking forward to visiting again very soon. Thank...
