The Local Tavern — Restaurant in Leyden Township

I think I know why this place was dead tonight. It is a Sunday. This was my first time being here. I asked for a grey goose and Red Bull. Drank it as normal because the margarita and Long Island were both trash. Figured there was no way to make a grey goose and Red Bull poorly. Specifically, I asked for a grey goose, Red Bull, pint glass, lots of ice. My drink was warm. I want what I ask for. Not what the bartender thinks I want. At least train her to make a Long Island properly. It stunk like gin and was the color of Coca Cola. Pretty sure she did not even shake the margarita. I think she thinks I wanted a bunch to booze. No, this was my first time here. I wanted good drinks and what i asked for. good tasting drinks. that is what bars need. not a bunch of booze in a glass. nobody in the place except some guys in their pajamas and some old creeps. The bartender told me she was “too nice to me.” What does that even mean? I said thank you for everything and blew her mind for saying thank you and being so polite. Check the camera above the register. You will be able to see her reactions and see me say thank you probably 20 times while I am as inside. She asked me if I wanted to talk to a manager and I said no. Then she gave me attitude and I decided that I wanted to speak to a manager. Then she said no manager was there. She is not sorry. She is wrong. She will surely be upset that she got called out and tried to sneak extra charges on to my account. Hey Justyna, not everyone that walks in is drunk. Don’t scam people. They charged me for more money than I wrote on the tip line. And it wasn’t even an amount I could understand changing it to by mistake. I called to ask about it, and they said “sorry, I can’t do anything, call on Saturday when that bartender would be here.” She didn’t seem concerned.

Besides that, all 3 times I’ve come here, the bartenders act like I’m not there. They seem to strongly prefer serving the men there. This last time, I saw the bartender look directly at my empty drink and kept walking around and coming up to other people asking if they need anything when they weren’t even waving her down.

I don’t understand why I was treated like that, I was never rude to them. I think since they’re younger women they know the big tips would come from the men there. Notice how 95% of the good reviews on here are from men?

I even tried to tell the owner their bartenders pay no attention to me and she denied there’d be any favoritism. She was a very sweet older lady and I believe she believes herself when she said that, but even the people I was with noticed how much I was being ignored without giving them...

Justyna and Basia are absolutely amazing. I come here all the time because I really enjoy spending time with them. They are sweet, funny, and always make me want to come back the next day. This bar could have no bartenders better than those two beautiful women. They make me feel valued as a guest. They make me feel good about myself. They make me feel like I matter as a person. Truly great bartenders. This bar is in good hands with those two leading the charge. I will always come here, even if I move away from the area, as long as they work here.
