SoHo Luxury Exchange — Local services in Liberty Township

I'm sad to share this experience, but felt I must because this is a local store that claims to buy, consign, sell and trade for cash luxury consignment items. I had two items that I was attempting to sell with a possible purchase from them or consign - Chanel and Louis Vuitton - both handbags. One item was in stellar condition with no flaws, the other with minimal flaws.

To first start, this group would only work with me over text messaging. I know the storefront is closed due to theft and will only open by appointment. I offered more than once to come to a meeting spot to show them my bags. They never would. They would only accept pictures, so I took and sent many pictures, along with descriptions, serial # information, purchasing details, etc - all OVER text messaging. After doing all this work, they told me they weren't buying any bags at this time, only consignment, possibly trades. The bag in flawless condition, I was given a very low price to sell over consignment. The remaining bag, a Chanel Boy Bag, they wouldn't provide a price for consignment. And I was essentially told they weren't going to even offer me a cash trade because pricing was too difficult. Even though I showed them the same bag, just a smaller size and in poorer condition from one of more popular luxury consignment sites. I once again offered to meet to allow them to look at the bags in person and was put off. Even when I shared my LinkedIn profile, address, etc to show that I was a real person who was selling the bags. So after all the text messaging, I had to do with this group - I was basically turned away with "we don't want your bags or your business" attitude.

So I decided to go to Store 5a. Store 5a closed their storefront location in Easton, but reopened their location or partnered with Diamond Cellar (now in Dublin on Sawmill). I packed up my bags, took them over there without an appointment. Not only did they think both my bags were beautiful, but wrote me a check on the spot for BOTH of them. Then I turned around and bought two bags from them that I was able to see without making an appointment. They were kind, helpful and a pleasure to work with.

While I know that we all have a tendency to think our stuff is wonderful and worth more than a retailer such as Soho may think, my experience with Store 5a proves that my items were worth money and their time.

Unfortunately I can't say the same for Soho Luxury Exchange. When you can't even get someone to make an appointment with you, then that's a clear signal that you don't want to be bothered. Working with this group was not a...

The item was not what I expected, I thought the belt was medium size but ended up being too skinny for me to wear, it's definitely intended for women. I would've exchanged it for a wider one but unfortunately you guys don't have that option, nor do you have a return option. So I'm stuck with an almost $500 belt that I can't wear. The measurements were wrong unfortunately. The original box was cool to have though I guess. item came fast, so I can say shipping was great, it wasn't protected at all, but it wasn't crushed or anything when I received it. All in all, if the belt would've been the size I was expecting this would be a 5 star rating, hell even if it was wrong and they at least let me exchange for a different belt, this would've been a 5 star experience. I understand no returns, but at least an exchange or store credit should be offered. This will be the last time I shop here...

So glad I found this boutique! I am not local to the area but stumbled across the site in search for a pre loved Louis Vuitton neverfull mm specifically monogram and made in France. I have a Damier ebene neverfull and wanted to grow my collection. With the crazy price increases at LV I decided to search for pre loved. Soho helped me feel comfortable purchasing a pre loved item that I couldn’t physically touch or see. Vicki sent me videos and photos of the handbag and answered all of my questions. Shipping time was super fast! The box arrived kinda beat up (during the shipping process) but the bag arrived in the exact condition as described and portrayed in the pics and videos.
