Dollar General — Local services in Ligonier

It’s actually insane that this DG is rated so high. DG is a maliciously horrible company that doesn’t pay their employees a living wage and has them busy doing endless stocking, oftentimes there is also only one person working which is SO dangerous for the employee.

Because of the company’s policies, things are generally abysmal here because items are constantly out of stock for months, lines are long because there’s one person working who’s often alloted to other tasks so the cash register is empty. It’s pretty normal that you have to go look for someone in the aisles if you want to check out. Multiple times I’ve bought items and found that they were never bagged, or that I was wrung up for an item I didn’t buy because of the collected clutter from stocking and returns. the building is falling apart and the megacorp who runs it can’t be bothered to do anything but build brand new stores within a few miles.

IMPORTANTLY, I blame none of the employees. They are friendly people who are doing the best they possibly can while under the scrutiny and policies of a company who doesn’t want to pay its employees properly or even treat them with respect. I know for a fact that the people who work here are working incredibly hard day in and day out, often overtime, often alone. They remain as friendly as they can and I consider many of them some of the most enduring ppl I know.

People in Ligonier need to do a better job helping to call out the issues with stores like these, when it’s such an important staple in this town for many of us, especially those of us with a lower income. And especially when it is abundantly clear how poorly the employees...

After waiting in line for a very long time, I was told that I have to go to the other register with an even longer line because the cashier from my first register had to run to the bank. After I moved to the longer line, the cashier from the first line that I was moved from checked out the more customers. I rarely shop at the ligonier DG because of the crappy way they treat their customers. Latrobe is only a few miles up to 30. I highly suggest going to one of the two DG stores...

I just bumped up my rating of Dollar general in Ligonier they just remodeled the store and reorganized everything. It is much nicer and easier to find items that you need.

If they can keep the stuff put away in the correct place on a regular basis I may have to come back and boost my rating again. The new system looks...
