Went in (have no bag, purse, or backpack on person; just cards in my pocket) and the man on site was initially nice and greeted me and told me to look around. I thought wow great customer service.
Three minutes later I look up and see the man in standing and staring at me while I look through things. I gave him the BOTD (benefit of the doubt) thinking maybe I looked up when he was just stretching.
Then, 2 minutes later, he walks up to me and asks am I looking for something in particular and I politely said not really just looking for some cute professional stuff (which they do have) as I'm a teacher. He says ok and walks away. I ask if the dressing room is open and he tells me no- which during Covid I understand.
Then less than 5 minutes later he gets up from behind desk and begins to follow me around. Not like respectful distance following, but stands in my way blocking me in one of the isles and less than 2 ft apart from me with no mask, while shifting every item that I touched back into place while I attempt to look at them. After he did that, he states that "it's cleaning time" and tells me that I'm not to touch anything else in the store as "when customers pick up to look at items, things break and he doesn't want me to break any items" and that I'm "to only look at things I want, not touch them if I want to buy them".
I'm in shock and deeply hurt at this point as this is a store I always wanted to check out but rarely saw open the times I came (no hours are on the door). Then I ask him for his name, a business card, and/or a phone number. He said "oh I'm not an owner, but an employee" and that he didn't understand my request because "limited English. I speak", when earlier he greeted me perfectly fine and understood what we discussed (I thought to use phone to translate, but his dismissive attitude towards me made not bother).
I'm writing this to leave my review to let others know about my experience. Never thought in a million years that I'd write a single star review for a business in Gwinnett County but today such has happened. Possibly this is a new owner from the previous reviews.
Anyhoo...
Dear Owner, if you could please reach out I'd like to discuss with you my experience and possibly consider retraining that employee. If you playback store footage, you'll see that under no circumstances was I rude or caused your employee any distress to be treated this way, as well as this is an accurate/factual account of what indeed happened. The experience I faced was unjustifiable and I hope isn't a common business practice, especially here in beautiful and diverse Duluth, GA. This again is my first 1 star review (I believe)... and I'm in no means writing this to cause any harm to your business, but am writing in hopes to connect with you to see what practices you'll implement so other community members, like myself or otherwise, don't have to face such demeaning and demoralizing treatment in the future. I do hope to hear from you soon and if not, best wishes to you, your staff, and your...
Read moreWow, extremely disappointed and quite frankly hurt by the actions of the employee running the store while I was shopping. When I walked in he greeted me with a warm welcome and a smile which put me at ease but once I began to browse the store that all changed. As Im perusing through their items I couldn't help but feel like I'm being watched and sure enough i look up at the counter and he's glaring at me. I think nothing of it as I've never stolen a piece of candy from the store let alone SHOPLIFTED!?! Next thing I know he's following me around so I just pick out a t shirt without getting to look at all of them as I'm starting to become uncomfortable and proceed to checkout. Here's where it takes a turn for the worst: as I'm waiting in line a young Asian lady is checking out before me, i see her hand him a $100 bill to which he quickly puts in the register and hands her the change. Now I've been rang up and it's my turn to pay, so I hand him a $100 bill and he first holds it to the light AND THEN uses the counterfeit marker. I'm a bit fed up at this point because I've already been profiled and followed while I shopped and now you think I'm using funny money 🤦🏾♂️ so I ask "why didn't you do the same to the girl before me when she paid" which he replied "she's good people I know her" I didn't feel like arguing so I just laughed it off grabbed my things and left. BE CAREFUL SWB (shopping while black) here. They'll take our money but won't respect us as paying...
Read moreCaught my son (17) texting his friends about picking up vapes from this store. They are illegally selling tobacco to minors! When I went to the store and showed the owner a picture of my son he smiled and made small talk along the lines of "yes I know him good kid" then suddenly when I confronted him about selling tobacco to minors "my English not so good". Parents beware, this store will sell your...
