They definitely don't know how to price what they have. My most recent project I got from there definitely shows. I bought a used vacuum, a Eureka Contour, from this place about a week ago as of writing this review. The vacuum was definitely run through the ringer as it is missing several parts and had rust on every single piece of metal hardware on it except the handle screws and belt guard. I was disappointed to see a such terrible shape vacuum listed for $20, I wouldn't even consider 10 reasonable. But, since I was persistent and wanted to try out one of these older bagged Eurekas, I tried negotiating to get absolutely nothing in response, so I hesitantly bought it at full price. Sure enough, I have dumped $60 more into this trying to fix the current motor and then deciding to just buy an NOS motor. This is not the only time Lincoln Goodwills have charged out the rear end for vacuums that have sat in hell's custodian closet for 5 or so years. Some of the prices I've seen on vacuums at these stores that have clearly tried to take on Mike Tyson are more expensive than vacuums that I have sold refurbished. Just a few years ago their selection of rough housed cleaners were all mostly $10, now I'd be lucky to find one that's $20...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis location seems to think that their items are worth more than they actually are. Went in to look for a specific item, which I found, but it was priced as though it were new! Upon looking around at different items in the store I found that some of them were priced higher than they would be if they were purchased new in a retail store. While I understand they have expenses, this is ridiculous. The Goodwill USED to be a good place to find items at reasonable prices, but anymore you're money ahead to just go buy new!
Their 10 for $10 sales are deceiving also. Went in on one of those sales not realizing it was going on until I got there, and I only wanted ONE item, but I was going to be charged $10.00 for that one item even though the original price was less than half of that! Needless to say that item remained in the store at the register. I can understand the $10.00 if you are buying the 10 items, but if you are only wanting a single item, or even 2 for that matter, the $10.00 price is uncalled for and extremely unreasonable.
I have decided that this location will no longer receive any of my business, that my money will be spent at other thrift stores that know how to price their used items with...
