I paid $120 for a small amount of food. Maybe that comes with the times.
However, they won’t give you paper or plastic bags like other grocery stores. Every item i bought is in plastic. Every one. Then they ask to charge you for paper bags to take them to your car with. Insulting.
In addition, there is a robot that drives around the store that gets in your way. Every customer and employee dislikes it. Ask the employees, they are embarrassed of it. “But management likes it”.
They got 2 stars instead of one because the crew that cuts the deli meats is awesome and friendly.
Edit, i just bumped the review from 2 to 3 because i talked to steve the manager and his attitude was outstanding. He said he is aware of many complaints about charging for bags and the robot. I doubt he has any power to change these things. If stop & shop senior management gave Steve more power, that store would grow in revenue quickly.

I go to the ground beef section and it’s 7.99 for 1 lb if ground beef? The grass fed is a dollar more. It’s a joke. No wonder business is down. And the worst of all experiences is the self checkout - that scale is so awful it made me get help 5 times because when I would scan and place things down it would prevent me. Then when I put in produce I can’t find the actual names so I overpay for produce. Honestly I might never shop here again just because this is now the 3rd time in self checkout that it’s gone this way. It seems like stop and shop is more concerned with food theft than customer experience with that self checkout absolutely awful. That being said this is not a reflection of the workers...
Read moreThe worse store ever!!!! I love couponing... and the store near my house is usually pretty cool with it and understand me... however in this particular store I felt anything but welcomed. By far the worse experience in years... taking into consideration how intimidating and bothered "Paige", I believe her name was, she seemed annoyed with every question I made.... left that place with the beginning of an anxiety attack would not recommend it.... they discriminate just because you use manufacturer coupons.... at least that's what the night shift seems like.
